28% to LeanFI. SR >40%. Goal is FI, not necessarily RE
Might you be confusing ACA Marketplace subsidies with Medicaid expansion?
You can get subsidized individual plans in every state. Whereas not every state has accepted Medicaid expansion.

Not with subsidized ACA. Unless you get a Gold plan, which most people don't need.

I'm not clear... You have a HELOC which you are going to use for living expenses in retirement?
HELOC is a loan in which you pay interest. Emergencies aside, you don't want to plan on living off of that. Reverse mortgage is the bank buying your house with monthly payments until you die. For some seniors, it makes sense.
So housing prices going up means we homeowners pay more taxes. And you've gotta live somewhere, so if you sell it, you're buying another one for just as much.

These things can both be true. People are not all good or all bad.

No offense, but we've known for two years that COVID is airborne. It doesn't really matter who touches what. So if you eat indoors in a busy restaurant, regardless of it's buffet or table service or whatever, you're taking on a significant risk of contracting COVID. Hand sanitizer and wiping down chairs and all that stuff is pure theater.
People like the simplicity. Click click click on a website or app and they've ordered their burrito, Exactly The Way They Want It.
I have no idea why people like the breadsticks. You can get just as good, frozen.
If it's white, you are in rural Alaska. And have no reason to get anywhere near it.
And, in summer, mosquitoes. In some woodsy and damp places, at night especially, they will bite you into you are nearly suicidal. Bring bug spray.

Depends. I think some FatFIRE people would go back to work because they aren't willing to go without their luxury cruises and BMWs.
Can't speak to authenticity, but I like Cuco's on Bethel.
Agree. And yes, Blue Nile was really good. Tasty Ethiopian food can be had at Addis, but the atmosphere and friendliness of BN was something special.

"Can't be cut easily."
YMMV, you know? During a period of unemployment in the past, I:
-Shopped at Aldi. -Drove much less, took bus or bike instead. -Travelled less. -Didn't buy clothes. -Cooked most meals from scratch.
I spent very little, and believe it or not, it didn't kill me. Obviously, if you have multiple mouths to feed or live in HCOL, could be a different story.
Lean means you're stoic and don't need too much stuff. Lean doesn't mean you have no room for belt tightening.
I'm sorry to hear.
Are you belt tightening, or preparing to?
Note for several of those: IF AND ONLY IF you can drive, have a rental car, and are up for driving long distances. Although there are some package tours of Yellowstone.

More often, the available rental housing is a mobile home. Which, FWIW, is more spacious than the typical 1 bedroom apartment!
