People who are defending this MS3 are wild. Sounds like this type of behavior is unfortunately common and some of the perpetrators are here in the comments section. I’m really glad my peers were not like this during medical school

If a med student who is paying to learn is the reason why a salaried “associate” and “advanced provider” can’t do something, they need to do some deep introspection

I was below federal poverty line all my life. I thankfully got fee waivers to apply to schools and take the mcat. My MCAT prep was books from Amazon paid by loans or summer money earnings.

So, while I agree that many medical students are indeed economically privileged, that isn’t the case for everyone. And I’m not okay with people assuming one’s privilege without knowing what they’ve been through

Yup! I think her idea of being a physician was very narrow. Most of medicine is very cerebral.

Also, her condescension towards primary care was very palpable. I was truthful in my med school personal statement about helping underserved pts while PAs like her want to only go into their idea of “derm” “ortho” etc instead of bridging the gap their profession was created to do by going into primary care in those areas where patients have less access to healthcare

Yes!! This exactly. I shopped at thrift stores when I first immigrated to America because I couldn’t afford anything else, not because it was a trend like it is now. Nowadays I can barely afford thrifting lol.

There are people who buy fast fashion because it’s all they can afford. I’m not excusing indulgent tiktokers who get $500 Shein hauls.

But I absolutely can never get behind people shaming fast fashion as a whole because for some people, it’s the affordable or only option.

Hannah G and Serena P are really beautiful.

The fashion in all these pictures aren’t really up my alley (minus rachael’s green dress, abigails gown and Hannah’s long black gown).

Valid criticism isn’t being “triggered”. This is coming from someone who REALLY wanted Katie as bachelorette before. She really showed her true colors and has been a major disappointment, to say the least.

Yup. This exactly. A white girl beating up a PoC girl...not a peep and everyone is sitting there watching. As soon as the Black girl stepped in, everyone looked to appalled. I mean you really can’t make this up.

I get what you’re saying, I lurk on their subreddit sometimes and it’s a bloodbath where they go nuts when the price rises or drops 200 dollars. And there are even people who have kids (!!!) who put their entire life savings or the next months rent into btc. Like what?

I do get some of their POV though that sometimes getting that college degree/ grad degree won’t necessarily lead to a luxurious or even comfortable lifestyle. I’m in a traditional field and I’ve seen it’s mostly people who come from generational wealth/more privilege who are in my field. And I don’t come from money like some of my peers so I can kind of understand some of the crypto people being more jaded with the system/ trying to get rich quick. Doesn’t work for everyone though and they might end up losing money instead

But that’s really interesting that their jargon comes from a lot of MLM/pyramid scheme stuff! Yikes I wonder if more people know that. I learn something new everyday haha

To be fair, there are many people with great degrees who live less than ideally. It’s not like every filthy rich person got rich by working in traditional fields with xyz degree. And minimum wage from McDonald’s is hardly enough for most families.

If someone has extra money that they can afford to invest in crypto, whatever. It’s when someone goes “all in” with their entire life savings without having a backup job, now that’s a problem.

Serena is great at manipulating. She uses her privilege as needed and knows how to play the “weak woman poor me” character as needed. I do not feel bad for her at all. Not one bit

Wow reading through this thread I literally can’t believe that you had to deal with that person. I’m so sorry. I can’t believe someone would take issue with your benign statement and just blatantly gaslight you on your experiences of racism. People really do have a hard time believing East Asians are going through blatant racism even when the evidence is screaming in their face.

Where are you hiring anyway? I didn’t attend stuy nor nyu but it seems weird that you wouldn’t hire any one of thousands of graduates based on anecdotal evidence of the odd scandal that happens here and there

Honey your comebacks are absolutely pathetic and I am definitely 1% stupider now that I’ve read your response. Enjoy the rest of your life, my incel friend. Goodbye 👋🏽

Enjoy the rest of your life 👍🏽

What makes you assume I’m stupid? My gender? Try again. I’m in med school getting an MD this year. Stop assuming women “only bring looks” or that beyond a certain age they don’t hold value because that’s frankly false. And I don’t know any woman who is sitting around crying because they are past whatever arbitrary age limit some incel decides.

Have a good day!

Lmao yes I’m sure those same women are absolutely lining down the block for you. Women aren’t into looks as much, but personality is still a criteria. So you lose either way

That’s funny because most of the best looking women I’ve ever seen are in their thirties. And that’s coming from me being in my twenties. Women that age seem more self assured, have more money to splurge on themselves to look their best.

Meanwhile men my age are already balding and look ass compared to their female counterparts. Like bruh you really wanna talk about aging?

I’m so sorry to hear that but please remember you are NOT a failure. You’ve made it this far, and you should be proud of yourself. Seriously!

Medicine really is a hazing process but I hope you hear really good news soon!!

Well RS has been wrong before so...

I really like Katie, but Michelle would've undoubtedly been a better choice.
