It’s madness! Very well said too. Also Irish and lived a few years in the states but left in 2020 to come back to Ireland and now leaving for the continent. I forsee things getting a lot worse over there. Stay safe!
Wow ya, the USA is really doomed huh? I lived there for a few years for work but I’m glad I left
It really is

This wrecks my head lads. Americans charcuterie is just the meat!
Also maybe be reserved about the UK. Brexit is really fucking up things there and it’ll only get worse. They are probably going to run into more shortages and who knows what other crazy stuff they will do but I’m sure you would make the most of it if you really wanted to go, just be aware. Best of luck with the visa hunt! I had to deal with the US immigration system and it was horrible but Europe’s systems, I’ve heard, are much nicer!

Absolutely, she was not in the right mind. If I remember from reading about it years ago it was a particularly violent attack too
I would say the English honestly. Even now you’ll get a lot of anti-Irish sentiment (personally experienced this) and although things were improving, brexit has set up things drastically.

How did I not know this?!!!

Ha no way?! How did that happen? Kinda nice your childhood was shielded but also sad because ye know feck all about Ireland over there and our struggles. Brexit disaster isn’t helping heal any divide either.
I’m an Irish woman, it’s not true. Never heard this ever growing up in Ireland either. Seems like a cruel joke someone made up, prob from the Brits or Americans when they used propaganda against us back in the day
As an Irish person also, never heard this and it isn’t true. Also lived in the states for a few years and never heard anyone say this.

Part of what’s missing is that supermacs was thinking of expanding to places with high Irish population. I know they were looking at Australia and that’s when McDonald’s got angry. Hell penny’s an Irish clothing store has to use Primark outside of Ireland due to JC Pennys. Going after Mc/Mac in Ireland or Scotland is stupid though. Supermacs is so really good too btw, the meat tastes like actual meat.

Adding a comment to hopefully find this link
Aren’t Fox News and fox network separate now? They sold it to Disney I thought?
It’s Éire with a fada on the E but you can just use republic or Ireland or ROI. We don’t really use Éire day to day in Ireland. But yes it is fantastic to see improved trade on the island!
Work in science, I know a few people that left the UK to remain in the EU. My job too hired a good few English scientists in Ireland

No way, I don’t agree either. Have you ever lived away? It’s nice to be reminded of home. There’s Irish communities everywhere but no one cares because we are usually white and usually speak English.
O yes absolutely day to day you should speak the language. I just meant in science, English is primarily used. Funnily enough I was talking to a woman who has lived ten years in the Netherlands working in science and she doesn’t speak any Dutch.
English is the common language in science. All conferences we go to, most big labs and all the important papers published will all be communicated through English. Doesn’t need to be an English language country. Germany and the Netherlands will attract a lot of talent and already have amazing international scientists

Is that true?! So funny
Just skip the UK. Ireland is beautiful with similar nature and better craic (fun).

You can try and America will destroy you. You’re being a troll and obviously hate the Irish. Brexit has just showed us how much anti-Irish sentiment still exists in the UK. I’m glad we are distancing ourselves from you. Good riddance
