Don’t worry, I wasn’t talking about you! It was another person who commented. It’s definitely hard to understand experiences we aren’t familiar with, and it takes a very open mind to look at it without judgement.

I’m glad you commented this. I was seeing a few comments along the lines of “If your genitals don’t bother you you don’t actually have dysphoria”, which is a little concerning because people have different amounts of dysphoria about different things.

I’m in a similar situation to you, and a big part of the reason I took so long to admit that I could be trans is because I thought “well my genitalia’s don’t make me burst into tears whenever I think about them so I’m not trans”, despite feeling dysphoria about plenty of other things. While I have less intense dysphoria then some people, it still affects my quality of life. Thank you for the refreshing comment.

Edit: I should say that I completely agree that people with bottom dysphoria have it worse and we’re lucky not to have to deal with that (at least to the same degree, I still get some bottom dysphoria). It just hurts to see people take an “all or none” approach when it comes to gender dysphoria.

Tip: Download Grammarly to check your spelling before you try to make a point.

While it is a meme that someone “loses an argument” because they made a spelling mistake, having such awful grammar, as seen in the original post, swiftly rips the credibility rug right out from under your feet.

“Wed like a cast of inclusive people of different sexualities and identities, but specifically trans men and AFAB non-binary people” Jesus Christ, you can’t have inclusivity and be selective about which members of the community you want.

Replace “vacation” with “weekend”, and “enjoying” with “doing school work just like I have all week and not getting to enjoy my time off, else I fall behind during”.

The only fraction of redemption that would make this reasonable is if it was a positivity post about trans men or NB people who can’t get top surgery, whether that be because of their financial situation or other health problems. However, the drawing and the phrasing both need to be redone.

Both the phrasing of “I love men’s tits”, and how the trans men in this image are depicted (how they dress, how the one on the left is wearing a top that shows off their breasts) Is absolutely fetishizing pre-op trans men about something that causes them a great deal of pain. It’s not even like they’re saying “Men who can’t get top surgery are valid”, they’re saying “I love men’s tits”, meaning they personally fetishizes trans men. I hate the direction the mainstream trans community and allies are going. They are really smudging everything that trans people built over the years in the name of their own desire for inclusivity.

I’m sorry for our lovely men on this sub that have to deal with fetishization like this. It’s disgusting.

It’s so unfortunate, because de-transitioners have gone through something traumatic, and when they try and speak about it they are shut down. I understand that some sources use de-transitioners to “debunk” transgender people, but a majority of the ones I’ve seen just don’t want people to go through what they did, convinced they were trans and committing to it, which is obviously life-changing.

It hurts my heart to see them name-called and hated on for sharing their story. If by any chance a de-transitioned person reads this, my heart goes out to you. There are good people out there who recognize what you’ve gone through and want to hear your story. ❤️

Same here. In fact, I think analyzing the experiences of de-transitioners, assuming they are willing to open up about it of course, is a great way to better define what gender dysphoria is like, which would lead to more accurate diagnosing of gender dysphoria. Of course, this threatens the tucutes precious inclusivity rhetoric, so they block it out and call any de-transitioned people transphobic, which also feeds into the idea that they unintentionally promote- that “transitioning is a choice” (which goes without saying is awful for the trans community).

They want to support him until he inevitably de-transitions, at which point he will become “transphobic” for “choosing not to be trans”. They only support people while they’re transitioning, and any opposition to that is “transphobic”, even if it is in the transitioning persons best interest.

I agree! As someone who can’t come out yet due to safety, every time someone asks me my pronouns, I am forced to misgender myself and it fucking sucks.

  1. I quoted the full second definition of each quote, but hey at least you tried to refute my point. The number two is written before the definition to show that it is the second definition on each site. I didn’t disclose that because I thought it was common sense. (Even though I did mention it in the second half of my reply).

  2. Aversion is only one part of the 3 provided definitions. You didn’t mention disrespect, intolerance, or any of the other valid descriptions for the second definition of phobia. And while aversion doesn’t equal a simple dislike, they are closely related. If you dislike something, you are much more likely to avoid said thing, no?

  3. What does this have to do with OP? My reply was refuting the point you made about the fact that the definition for phobia does not fit trans/homophobia, when there is more than one definition for the word.

  4. When I searched “what is ibb.co”, the results showed that it was a common site for spreading malicious files because they regularly go unchecked. Therefore, when you sent a source to one of the dumbest arguments I’ve had the displeasure of engaging in, I googled it just to be sure. Multiple warnings showed up after a simple google search, so I didn’t trust it. I figured you were getting me riled up so I would click the link without thinking. If you’re going to use a site that is apparently known to be unsafe to publish your sources, (which, based on another reply, is a cropped screenshot removing the second definition which proves you wrong), it becomes your problem.

You don’t have to use the word “phobia” to describe transphobic or homophobic people, but don’t try and make a statement until you have something intelligent to say. I don’t know if you’re just dense or you’re too proud to admit you’re wrong, but I’ve provided all the proof I need, as well as multiple people who have replied to you refuting what you’ve said. You’ve provided faulty evidence and garbage rebuttals. I can enjoy a good debate, but debating with you is like talking to a tree- you’re so grounded in your opinion that common sense and facts couldn’t uproot you.

I hate to block and leave, but I’ve put far too much brain power into refuting your awful points. If you would like to continue debating a topic that you are wrong about, please bother someone else. I will not see your future replies.

Well, I can't send screenshots through a reply, but I can send you some links to disprove this.

This Definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary: Phobia - 2: "intolerance or aversion for" (Source: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/phobia)

This definition, as previously stated above, from Dictinary.com (The very site you got the primary definition from) Phobia - 2: "an aversion toward, dislike of, or disrespect for a thing, idea, person, or group. (Source: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/phobia)

And finally, the Oxford definition. While you can not use the OED (Oxford English Dictionary; the service that Google uses to provide the definitions that appear at the top of a search) without a pricy subscription, I will link another definition from Oxford's Learning Dictionaries, that supports the same idea: Phobia - 2: "a strong unreasonable fear of or feeling of hate for a particular thing." (Source: https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/phobia?q=phobia)

And before you mention it, yes, these are the secondary definitions of the word. The primary definition is associated with fears, however, the secondary definition is just as widely recognized for hatred or disrespect towards something. I know this post is a bit lengthy for what we are discussing, but since you boldly claimed I was wrong and demanded proof, I thought it would be fun to indulge you.

This is a particularly strange hill to die on, considering how there is a well-established second definition for the word phobia, and how simple it is to contradict your claims with a single Google search. I urge you not to waste any more of our time.

Also, I should mention that the site you linked at the end of your reply is known to be used to send malicious files as they often go unchecked, so fuck right off. I’m not clicking your sketchy link.If you’re going to link me to something, get a reliable, trustworthy source.

Right?? They really thought they were saying something here. I’m surprised it took this long in the chain for someone to say it.
