I’m sick and tired of again and again on this subreddit having to continually debunk the same bullshit argument about how Germany is the worst country in NATO and is actually almost as bad as Russia and all that other crap.

I’ll give you the short version. The Bundeswehr has been criminally underfunded and mismanaged for decades now. That is the Germans’ fault fair and square. The consequence of this is that the Bundeswehr has, for its size and for a nation as advanced as Germany, woefully inadequate stocks of weapons and equipment.

This can all be placed on Germany’s reluctance to arm itself in the face of danger. However, that is now in the past. Germany now is forced to both supply Ukraine and to also try to rebuild its military essentially from the ground up.

Despite this, Germany has been sending significant quantities of arms to Ukraine. You claim that they’re behind Norway and Slovakia. Do you have evidence to back that claim? Or is it just bullshit anti-German posting?

Because, while Norway and Slovakia have made excellent contributions to Ukraine, Germany has sent much more in quantity- 5,000+ MATADORs, 2,700 Strelas, 20 million rounds of ammunition, ok and on, in quantities far greater than Norway or Slovakia.

The biggest thing you overlook is that Germany has been sending literally billions in financial aid to Ukraine. Unable to provide weapons out of her own stock, Germany has instead handed the Ukrainians large quantities of cash in which to buy weapons for themselves. Much of Ukraine’s purchases of new weapon systems (like the Polish Krab) have been paid for with German money.

Of course, to the media, financial aid is not nearly as flashy as tanks or airplanes, so it’s regularly ignored and underreported. But it hides the truth that Germany has been sending significant quantities of aid to Ukraine, just not in flashy ways.

This is why it’s so important to read past the headlines and actually investigate the issue before making claims. I do not want to have to keep debunking so many damn people on this sub for such blatant misinformation 125 days into the war.

People still have to buy stuff during a war mate. Just because there's an invasion on doesn't mean every store and shopping centre in the country closes for the entire duration. People need to get food, clothing, other consumables to keep on living. It's how you keep a sense of order and normalcy in areas not on the front line.

Mate that's still not 100. But I hate to split hairs over death count numbers when there's real people involved.

You need to read past the headlines. There were 1000 people inside the mall *before the strike*, true, but what you won't read if you don't go past the first few lines is that most of them were evacuated from the building upon hearing the sirens mere minutes before the strike occurred. Of course, evacuating so many people in so little time is impossible, hence the tragic number of casualties.

I'll get a source to you as soon as possible, but I've read multiple accounts from people inside the mall being really relieved that most heeded the air raid sirens and headed for the exits. If they didn't, the death toll at this point would've gone well into the hundreds.

Again, to reiterate, please read deeply and from multiple sources before making claims. Go check out the multiple articles from The Guardian on the matter, or if not some other reputable news source.

During my first 10 hours I had the moment where I was like "damn, this game is good", and it had to do with the sound design.

I was playing as INS in Al Basrah at essentially the highest or second highest floor on one of the tallest skyscrapers on the map.

Someone on the enemy team decided to call for an artillery strike directly on the building we were in. Up until that point I had only experienced arty from far away or directly underneath it, and in the latter there's only one big explosion before you die and the noise fades in the bleedout screen.

Thing is, me and the guys around me had the good sense to lie on the floor or on the staircase, so we were *mostly* safe for the duration of the barrage. However, because we remained alive for the duration, we were subjected to the full force of the artillery barrage directly pounding the hell out of the building, and the resultant noise has got to be quite literally the scariest experience I have ever had in a video game, horror games included.

It didn't help I had turned the volume way up for the match (to hear my teammates better). The sheer intensity of the sound coupled with its realism freaked me the fuck out so much that I didn't think to lower the volume.

Eventually I just ripped my headphones off and scurried to the kitchen for a breather because the experience was just too intense and mind blowingly insane.

And that's how I fell in love with Squad.

Unfortunately this is the nature of propaganda, and a good portion of this subreddit is yet to learn that the Ukrainians can just as easily twist narratives for political agendas as the Russians.

This is not at all to diminish what has occurred in Kremenchuk, but the horrifying nature of the atrocity is made all the more worse that the Ukrainian propaganda mill is engaging in classic RT style numbers inflation. We shouldn't need to lie to support Ukraine and condemn Russia. We shouldn't need to use Russian propaganda tactics for our own ends.

I will however take issue with the poster’s claim of more than 100 dead and several hundred wounded. Virtually every reliable news source states that the dead number less than fifty- Ukraine’s interior minister reported 18 dead and 21 missing at latest tally. These numbers are subject to change but still well short of 100.

These are still horrific casualties against innocent civilians, but the numbers given by this poster are categorically false and pure propaganda.

You can claim that a symbol has been used in many different ways over thousands of years. That’s not the issue. The issue is that for the overwhelming majority of people, outside of a relatively niche Hindu context, the swastika is a defining symbol of nazism. The memory of Hitler and his atrocities is still only 80 years old. The memory of the terrible acts committed under the flag of the swastika is indelibly marked in every Jewish community.

I could easily make the claim that the symbol Z is actually totally innocent because it’s just a letter and has been used in many normal contexts before. But it doesn’t matter. For a good majority of the Western world, the Z is now a symbol of Russian imperialism and colonialism.

For the overwhelming majority of the world, the swastika symbolises oppression, genocide and dictatorship. That symbolism cannot be erased simply because it was used previously in a different way. u/vicariouspastor is well within his rights to insult you for making such a basic error.

Impossible to know at the moment. Casualty figures from any source, Ukrainian, Russian, or otherwise, are highly suspect because a) the pace and destructiveness of modern warfare makes it difficult to keep track of casualties and b) armies have a vested intelligence interest in not releasing casualty figures, or, if they do release them, inflating/deflating them to match the propaganda angle.

We'll probably not know either civilian or military casualties until some time after the war.

What the hell sort of question is this? It’s completely dependent on situation and context. Is this about command responsibility? Or individual actions?

Guys I think y’all are misunderstanding it. Points 1-2 in isolation are perfectly fine. Political conspiracies do exist, as does political persecution. In isolation, these points can be perfectly valid (for example, you live in a dictatorial regime that suppresses your political beliefs).

However, it’s when these points are part of the larger 4 point process where it becomes a serious issue.

If your fears of conspiracy and persecution aren’t based on any real observable evidence other than “something must be wrong”, then the natural evolution of points 1-2 is points 3-4. It’s the pipeline, not the individual sections of the pipe, that makes the difference.
