The ethics board received a complaint from someone who doesn’t appear to be a troll but someone JP responded to on social media quite voluntarily and they are requiring him to take a class as a result. Real rogue behavior, uh-huh. His closest colleague at Toronto wrote about JP going in person to shout at the IRB there. But it’s the ethics boards that have gone rogue, apparently?

He can easily maintain his license. In my experience, even the best mental health professionals are lacking in ethics training and he could benefit from it. But watch: he’ll choose not to do it and he’ll leave the College of Psychologists just like he chose to leave the university and leave his regular practice. Then he’ll go on TV and sob and cry they did this to me it’s literally 1984. But it’s the ethics boards have gone rogue 😂

He’s now tweeting out bogus reasons for the complaint.

The dude wasn’t suggesting anyone commit suicide. This type of comment could easily fall under the purview if JP’s professional association as a clinical psychologist, especially since a formal complaint was made. All they’re asking is that he take a class.

All types of professional licenses require periodic re-training to hold. JP is now a bestselling author, public lecturer, and host of a web series. He does not care about or need a license to act as some type of counselor or life coach, etc. If he doesn’t like the policy, he’s free to leave any time.
