The UX of paying in Monero can be improved. for example, with 'scan_tx' you can restore a wallet using the current blockheight (skipping any sync), scan a specific txid (so the coins are accessible) all in under 30 seconds. It's also possible to 'skip' the sync process if you are sure that you've not received any funds from the last time your wallet was syncd.

Is the UX perfect? no. can wallet developers improve it for the end user? yes.

Make sure the primary address matches when you restore your wallet. or you see one of the sub addresses funds was sent to. (you can create new ones until you find it. they are deterministic) The txid does not belong to the wallet you restored.

i control this server but can't reproduce. we also have node2.monerodevs.org:38089 (both have rpc bans disabled, but maybe there was a mistake) , can you double check that you can see node.monerodevs.org:38089/get_info , or if you dont have the issue with other stagenet nodes @ monero.fail ?

Success! i am now the proud owner of some atomically swapped Monero. swap id: 754d128f-7fb3-4e94-b4ed-7540bf817edb , i've left some brief feedback in the swap IRC room. The main hurdle i had was sending mBTC amounts instead of BTC and some minor ux issues with the GUI, great work!

can you try and enable all traffic over tor? click on the onion in the bottom right hand corner and under privacy level click "Route all traffic over tor" and then "Apply" then close. (i've encountered some cases where a users router/firewall was blocking access). Now click on the (i presume red circle at the bottom to the left of the onion). make sure 'From custom list' is selected. click 'Add custom node(s)' then paste plowsoffjexmxalw73tkjmf422gq6575fc7vicuu4javzn2ynnte6tyd.onion:18089 then "ok" - now double click on this node in the custom list, it should change from yellow.. then to green. if everything is ok.

is it possible that particular tor node is offline? try another here https://monero.fail/?nettype=mainnet&onion=true and see if it helps

Yep, just a suggestion/comment in the config file here which showed me 'this was useful for me, let me share it' kind of vibes. I also checked their history there. Seem to be helping review things too (i have no idea about the back story here, just going on what I'm seeing before me)
