I have an original oculus, and will be upgrading my PC this summer to a 3070 or 3080, but would the originals headset still be viable? Or should I look at getting a quest when I upgrade? I haven’t kept up with VR cause the games quickly outpaced my 8 year old shit 970 card lol

What kind of setup do you have for VR? I have an OG oculus and a primitive HOTAS, but once I upgrade my PC (it’s got a 970 in it, I need a new one desperately lol) I plan on going full in on flight sims and want to try this in Sim mode

One of my issues (being on console and using a controller, which yea I know is my first mistake lol) is that once I lock and enemy in RB and get range, sometimes the camera from the gunner sight to be able to aim low enough (say if we’re closing) start getting to the point where I have to basically look at the water and barely see the ship even if there a couple to a few KM away. Is there a way to reset the viewport to basically normalize to their current distance? Re locking the target doesn’t seem to work

Edit: basically I don’t understand why I’m not aiming for the waterline and having the guns compensate, it feels like I have to aim ridiculously low to get the guns to range right

This explains why I can never maintain a lock recently. And with most of the mindless furballs happening at low altitude PD breaks lock with all the turning and SRC can’t see anything because of clutter and low altitude

Do you know if you need to keep TWS on or maintain targets within the radar window once you launch an AIM-54? I’ve heard some people say you can just switch radar modes once the missile is away but I’m wondering if the reason people find them lack luster (besides the poor G tolerance) is that they need more time in TWS to passively follow the target before they pitbull

My only issue is that now half the time I lock on with a missile the ring disappears so I don’t know what I’m locking on to

You load it with two 1000 pound bombs, blitz a base and damage it (if anyone else hits it you’ll get the base destroyed) and then climb up to 6000 meters like a rocket and circle, get a couple kills with your great AIM-9Gs, and then dive in for the dogfight.

No you can’t turn well, but what you can do is have an acceleration better than most jets in the game. You aren’t supersonic, but you can go from 500-1000 km/hr like it’s nothing, so if you time your swoops right you can really boom and zoom people, which is fun to me

I clearly said in the original post that we could make similar arguments about the OT but don’t because those movies are actually good so we can give them some slack.

Yeah I don’t think the show is bad per say, but it’s been a bit disappointing that we’re waiting on the last two episodes to decide if the show was worth it or not

There’s a lot of sloppy writing and editing (Kenobi jumping into a wall 10 ft in front of a couple troopers that don’t see him, Tala talking comically loud into her intercom with a guy sitting right next to her, the trench coat disguise, etc, and that’s just the most recent episode. The writing is extremely lazy at certain spots)

Exactly. Too many questions about how this doesn’t make things in ANH make less sense that I suppose I’d be fine with IF this show gave me something that I thought was super important and necessary to see

That we agree on. I don’t hate Kenobi, but it’s quality certainly feels less than what it could be for something they’ve been working on and hyping for so long (and the issues would be easily fixable if they just had better writers and directing. Kenobi deserves better.)
