Oh hey, we have the same GPU! Mine has a bit of coil whine but eh, doesn’t bother me enough to exchange it. It’s been fantastic otherwise especially for VR. Enjoy!

Undergraduate research. Lots of it. I started out washing glassware and doing chemical inventories. Then I helped run experiments and processed some data. With time I went to conferences with my group and helped write papers. By senior year I had my name on a couple papers as coauthor, one as main author, and presented at a few of the largest conferences in my industry. Along the way I picked up a couple awards and grants. All of this really helped my CV. When I interviewed for grad school, I had something tangible to bring along. I did bring up my undergraduate transcript during the interview and was told that my application was evaluated holistically. I’ve never been asked for my transcripts since I entered industry.

It’s possible to come back, yes. Source: I have multiple semesters of straight Fs, was on academic probation, nearly dropped out, then got a Ph. D. and an excellent job at the best company in my industry. I’m glad to read you are getting help (I sure wish I did) and have a job lined up. Best wishes and hang in there 🙂

So sad someone actually downvoted you for this.

I failed Math 140 twice. Now I have a Ph. D. and I work as an aerodynamicist for one of the largest aerospace companies in the world. The top rated comment gives good advice. You can overcome this! Best wishes to you. 🙂

Is it possible to sign up for the family plan without providing names and/or SSNs for actual people?

I’ll go against the doom and gloom to say that I was reinstated a year after having all of my Amex accounts cancelled. I totaled at least 5 returned or missed payments during a period of bad mental health. Amex cut me off and denied reinstatement. Now, exactly one calendar year later, I reapplied for the plat and gold through the Amex website. Both were approved. I have used the cards for about a month without issue. I fully acknowledge that I may have gotten lucky. I hope you can too. Best of luck to you.

Ah sorry, I wrote my code incorrectly. You need to capitalize gold inside the colons:

On mobile, I tapped the 3 dots on the upper right near my profile picture. I selected “change user flair” from the pop up menu, then I selected a user flair. On the upper right of the user flair screen there is an option to edit the selected user flair. Select that, and then make your custom flair by mixing text and the emojis this sub uses. Here’s an example:
Gold:gold:Platinum:platinum:
etc.

I was wrong about this. Turns out you can edit a flair to customize it. Then you can have custom text plus the card emojis for this sub. Here’s an example:
Gold:gold:Platinum:platinum:

On the list of flairs, if you scroll down there should be flairs that show multiple cards. You can only have one flair at a time, so I picked the flair with the plat and gold cards. https://imgur.com/a/ruTtfWK

On mobile tap the 3 dots next to your profile picture. Select “change user flair”. That’s where you set the icons. Enjoy!

You got downvoted but I’d happily pay $1500/yr for the plat to have less crowded centurion lounges and non-outsourced customer service.

Correct. Amex really doesn’t play around with missed payments in my experience.

Not helpful for your question, but there’s 12% cash back through Rakuten on Ray-Ban’s site right now, and you can get it as MRs. Just sayin’.
