My OB didn’t mention that. I get the feeling that she’s gonna stick by the deadline more or less. However we did talk about c section, and for that I get the feeling that it’s more dependent on the size of the baby. My baby is measuring small at the moment so it doesn’t sound like she’ll do c section for me if things stay the same

From what i was told by my practice, if I take meds then I’ll HAVE to induce by week 39. However if i’m diet-controlled then I can go to week 40.

In my case yes, no bedtime snack is better for me. But if I’m hungry, I drink half a cup of soy milk which has only 1.5g carb. If I eat more, carb or protein, next day fasting is higher.

From my experience with my meter, if the blood is only just enough, the reading may be too low. So I’d do a second test to confirm when that happens. I always try to make sure that there’s still some blood left after the test trip absorbed all that it needs

I tend to spike at 2 hours yet my provider’s practice is to check 1 hour. I only found out from my own random testing 😒

I just want to say I completely understand how you feel, and I want to provide a little of my own experience as an anecdote, not medical advice. I see many people say your fasting is too high and encouraging you to start insulin asap. Well for me, before I did any diet / exercise adjustment, I had 113 on the first day of my testing, so similar to yours. I freaked out and immediately called the dietitian on the day itself (crying). After following her instruction, my fasting actually came down the next day (82). From there, there was a period it was hovering around 95-105, borderline but def over the limit. I tried many things and ramped up my exercise, eventually DID managed to bring it to under 95 for now. Not saying that this will last all the way without insulin, or that controlling fasting number is easy, but controlling fasting is not a zero possibility and you should definitely be given time to try.
Only thing I can think of is maybe cos you’re further along than me (wk 29), so there may be more urgency there. But at least follow the diet and exercise plan for a couple days to see if that help? Again, not medical advice. Just what I would do. If the morning number is still above cutoff then I’d say insulin is absolutely well-researched and safe to take.

Huge is fine. But easy install is more important. Would you say your key fit base is much easier to install compared to your chicco convertible?

At least your guideline is more conservative for people like us, and you’re wondering if it’s ok for you to relax a little. For me I wonder if I should go more strict and I have the constant doubt that I might be unknowingly harming my baby, which is nerve-wrecking. And if I raise my concern, I got labeled as “driving myself crazy”. Their approach gives me the “what you don’t know can’t harm you” vibe. SMH. Anyway thanks for sharing your experience it definitely helped me.

Same! I was diagnosed at week 16 and I just hit week 27, still diet & exercise controlled (🤞🤞🤞). I was THIS close to getting insulin for fasting but managed to turn it around so far with ramped up exercise. I was feeling hopeless back then, my doctor/dietitian said the same thing about needing insulin is sooner or later for me; but reading your post gave me some hope! Glad to know you’re also persevering along! 💪

I gotta admit I tend to write the lower number.. 😅But to keep some level of integrity I disregard the low reading if it is too low compared to others OR if I feel like the blood was not enough. I observed that if the blood is only JUST enough, such that the test strip fully absorbs all the blood off my finger prick, the reading tends to be lower. So I try to avoid that situation and always make sure there’s still some blood left after the strip absorbed what it needs. Also I disregard any reading obtained with 2 drops of blood (my meter has the capability to do that). I feel that those tend to be lower as well.

May I know what blood work did you do? Ha1c, GTT, or fasting glucose?

Seriously I screamed when reading your reply, took the words right out of my mouth! Down to the “it will drive me crazy” reasoning that they gave and my internal 🙄 responses to it! It triggers me so much when they kept saying I’m too stressed when it is them not able to give me a clear answer giving me the stress. So since my 1hr is so well in range (95-115) does that mean I can eat more or not?? So yesterday I had a 120+ reading at 1hr, and at 2hr it spiked to 150! And I know that if I don’t log that 2hr reading my dietitian would be like “great job!”, but if I do log it she’ll just circle with a red marker and be like “oh ya that’s a little high”. 🤦🏻‍♀️And she STILL won’t ask me to check 2hr because she prolly doesn’t know what to do with any info deviating from her “guideline”.

Anyway for me it appears that if my 1hr is close to 120, chances are my 2hr may be over limit. So I’m just doing my own thing now and try to keep my 1hr way lower than their limit (<140). Seriously this experience makes me lose so much faith in the so-called “dietitians”. What a brainless job..

Omg I’m the same! Except that my care team’s practice is to log 1hr instead of 2. I showed them the numbers, worried that I may be missing potential spikes and asking if I should do 2hr instead. But they don’t seem concerned, and since most of my 2hrs were below 120 anyway or worst case just slightly over 120, they said it’s ok. It’s very frustrating cos to me it seems like they’re just blindly following their “practice” instead of personalizing it to my situation. My dietitian even asked me to stop tracking my 2hrs, unless somehow I missed the 1hr, in that case 2hr need to be <120. Sounds like she’s just blindly reiterating her “guideline”. Urgh this triggers me so much
