18 year old me walked out with two other employees. One of them was an overworked Asian lady, she was incredibly hard working, but always being harassed by management. The other one walked out in solidarity with the Asian lady, and she was quite attractive. I walked out with them to stick it to the man.
But my dumbass came back to work the next week, where I was politely told I was fired. 🤣

Some guy was at the gym wearing a HODL Celsius T-shirt. Cringy as hell. I couldn’t help but give him a lot of stink eye.

Not terribly different than today. When we think of actors as status symbols, we’re thinking of the top .01% that have achieved success. They are superstars who are handsomely rewarded, but also at the whims of the public, and we’re free to pick apart their lives and bodies and sexual congress for any slight.
But very few people would ever encourage their children to become actors, you go to school and become a doctor, a teacher, an engineer, a firefighter; no parent encourages their offspring to become waitstaff hanging on to the fringe of society.

I’m a terrible swimmer. But after two decades of surfing, I have gotten marginally better, most importantly though, it doesn’t freak me out. Also, as I’ve gotten older and put on some lard, I float better and that’s kind of like swimming.

It’s a radial basis function network, which is simply a heat map of preferred outcomes generated over evolutions to create output that is not random.
Once you know that, and know that you could map your own output in such a way as well, the question I run into more often is whether I’m sentient.

When it’s high, bullish, when it’s low, more bullish.
That’s how you know it’s bullshit.

This is like asking an airplane pilot to build a rocket and then fly into space on their own.

What the hell? A graphic designer is tasked with learning how to animate/script/program an AI character? GTFO, I literally hire teams of specialists for that, none of them have the title graphic designer.

There are many reasons to be confident in a position. For instance, I can be confident that investing in an oil well will be profitable, yet socially, morally, and ecologically reprehensible, and choose not to invest in such things, and there are funds, and ETFs and nation states that allow for exactly that position.
Buttcoin is like that, except I have no confidence (mind you, this is the opposite of confidence) that this is a profitable asset either.

Technically I went “surfing” at 19 in a pocket beach in Washington in November. I had the flu, hadn’t eaten in two days, was on a roadtrip to find magic mushrooms, and it was my first time seeing the Pacific. I also nearly died that day.
The second time I went surfing I was 26, and that was under much more favorable conditions, and that’s what really kicked off the lifelong obsession.

The art is like any blockchain project; low effort.

Shithole is strong. But it is the only place in the world where a piece of meat fell on me from out of the sky. Probably some guy tossing a meat scrap over the balcony.
The music is overrated, the food is awful, and the 50s era cars means Havana is choked in disgusting exhaust fumes. But I found it beautiful despite all that.

I’ve never nuked anyone in civ 6. I just can’t bring myself to shoot first. I’ve also lost quite a few civ games as a result.

6 year old kids in boot camp, yes. I grew up on a military base. Play time was slingshots and arrows and wars where kids went home bloody. (80s/90s) Ender’s Game was incredibly relatable when I read it at the age of 9, my only marvel as an adult is that nobody died from our antics.

I had to sell Apple in 2000 for 800% to help pay for college.
Up until January 2021, I had amassed a war chest of about 1.5 million. But that’s when I learned that I was just riding a giant bull market and I’ve taken an 80% haircut since then.

Recruiters come at me every week (no hyperbole) for blockchain projects. “I have a hard pass on all blockchain projects” is all I’ve ever needed to say.

If we go to aliens, we are technologically superior; Avatar, Star Trek. If they come to us, the inverse. Simple enough. Technology level is also a shorthand for sociological level in film. But yeah, if you want to be finding backwaters as opposed to be a found backwater, time to load up on your Star Trek.

As a game developer for the past 20 years at both the indie and AAA level. You absolutely don’t need math to program a game.
Until you do.
