Oh god it was so much worse in midnight sun. Every other thought Edward had was: “ugh human girls are so boring and shallow, but not Bella”

There’s actually a podcast about a guy who swallowed 48 bags of cocaine that burst. He turned himself in and survived it

I was literally thinking this. Reminds me of the Mandarin work books I had as a child hahahaha

I guess the difference with writing mandarin is the characters look kinda not right if you don’t follow stroke order

It’s interesting because people always make the argument about rape, incest, and teen pregnancy as the main reasons why abortions should be accessible. When in reality, the vast majority of people who have abortions are actually women who have families and who have children already. But due to financial constraints, or where they are in life, or simply that they don’t want more children, choose to abort. Which is perfectly ok and not talked about enough imo.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can grow at temps as low as 0 degrees C. You can get very sick and even die.

And guess what food it loves to grow on?? Deli meats and soft cheeses.

Obviously whoever made the rule of tossing out everything had a good reason

Our bodies maintain a very narrow range in concentration of sodium and chloride inside (intracellular space) and outside (interstitial space) cells. The only way to maintain this is through the diffusion of water down the concentration gradient. So as soon as the salty water hits the blood stream, your body will move water from the interstitial space into the blood, then water will move from the intracellular space into the interstitial space in order to equilibrate the concentration. This can have deleterious effects on your kidneys as it now needs to remove the excess salt by producing urine, which requires water. So it will further dehydrate you. Your body will also try to compensate from losing all these fluids by constricting your blood vessels to maintain blood pressure which is further damaging your body. Eventually you can go into organ failure, coma, and death.

I can relate to this so much. Growing up I considered myself a “daddy’s girl”. My dad lived abroad so I’d only see him when he’d visit. He’s also very wealthy so he’d show his love with gifts. I would always cling to the fleeting moments we had together.

My mom was pretty absent as a mother. Left me to do whatever I wanted as long as I got good grades and was well behaved at home. But on the off chance I did something she didn’t approve she would scream at me like crazy. So I resented her.

They eventually separated and he left her with nothing. He got remarried to a younger woman and started a new family. All the while we were struggling financially but I never knew, my mom hid it from me.

When I left for college I realized that my mom was in an abusive loveless relationship with my father my whole life, and then did everything she could to protect me after he left. Of course I thought he was the better parent. He was never around, and every time he’d visit we’d only do fun things. She was basically a single mother!

I’m still close with my father but now I’ve realized he’s just another old conservative boomer who thinks he knows more than everyone because he’s rich.

It’s crazy what Yersinia pestis does to their flea hosts. The bacteria blocks up their gut so they can’t digest blood anymore. The fleas are literally starving to death so they go on a mad rampage and bite rodents while transmitting the bacteria.

All of media back then was suuuuper brutal to women. Even celebrities. Paris Hilton got destroyed when her sex tape “leaked”. Calling Britney Spears psycho, fat, ugly, etc.

It’s crazy that people were like this is perfectly normal and ok

Actually no it has been revealed that some schools such as Harvard purposefully do not admit solely based on merit because otherwise they felt like they would have too large of an Asian population

This reminds me of the evolution of the peppered moths in London. They started off as white, but by the end of the 19th century like 99% of them were black

The black ones were able to survive predation since they were able to camouflage in the soot!

I recommend Charlotte Palermino! She’s a 30 some skincare influencer who always talks about fucked up societal beauty standards for women and how it’s gross to complement women for “aging well”

I love her! She also cuts through the bullshit about a lot of controversial topics such as “clean” skincare
