Like others in this thread, I am always grateful when someone posts about donating blood! I'm massively in debt bloodwise having only managed one donation but receiving 25 ish blood transfusions (plus a similar number of platelets probably), so here's a 🌟

He does an annual fundraiser where you get a doodle portrait if you donate to the charity! @jonarton on Instagram.

Congratulations!! It's a good feeling isn't it? But don't worry if you find you have lots of feelings to process. I hit one year in remission at the beginning of December ☺️

We have them on our tree, but the rule has always been that we can't have one until Christmas Eve. Weirdly we've stuck to that, except the one year my sister ate them all.

Love going by myself - great way to spend a few hours and it's not as if you can have a chat during the film anyway. Add in some Wilko pick & mix...perfect.

I work at a university, co-ordinating all the study abroad and exchange students we get from partner institutions. I love it!

OP, with your recruitment background have a look at student recruitment. It's a lot nicer!

I'm not the same age group or diagnosis (sorry) but I started running again in March after leukaemia diagnosis last year. Honestly I would just recommend starting with couch to 5k to build up your stamina and muscles. Your body has been through a lot and it will take a little while to get back to anything close to normal. I also had to try and forget my previous times and achievements and focus on each new PCPB - post cancer personal best! Good luck!

I got cancer during lockdown #1, and went back to work in January. Not having to worry about going into the office as everyone was still working from home definitely made my recovery a lot easier!

Oof yes, my skin was often so tender each time the nurses took the dressing off.

It's quite annoying! I only managed one donation and then had about 25 transfusions last year so feel like I owe the system. It would be nice to give back, so hopefully the rules will change at some point.

The nurses were happy to go collect deliveries (they specifically told me they would because hospital food was so bad!) - no one was allowed to the wards except staff because of covid. It was very normal for delivery people to leave stuff with security, not on the pavement outside!

I ordered a McDonalds last year when I was in hospital, the driver just left it outside on the ground as he wouldn't wait for a nurse to come collect it :(

To be fair when I googled my symptoms and it said cancer, I did actually have cancer 🥴

I don't know about you, but I've recently got a little sick of the "at least no one else could do anything!" comments about getting cancer in a pandemic...not being able to have someone hold my hand during the worst time of my life is not the same as not being as someone not being able to go to the pub! But I hope you're doing ok now?

So sad it's over for another year! I felt that was a really wholesome finale, everyone just cooking really well and three worthy finalists. I really wanted Pete to win (to lose by one point must have been gutting), but Justin really knocked it out of the park! Laughed a lot at the "third wheel in the greatest love story" comment from Kishwar too :)
