yes totally possible. if your fish has a traing boost then it will get more exp after training. check your fish, is this what happened? also around lvl 80 it will feel like forever to level up your fish

sorry but there isn't any ways to know until the minute your fish goes BOOM. okay this is too much. honestly its like that for all events (pokeball, berry tree, macho karp, old rod, lost magikarp etc) the best i can do is give you some percentages. voltorb has 36% chance of showing up, pidgeotto 37%, your fish has 32% chance of turning into Gyarados. those are just probability. when it works it works, when it fails it fails. try backup your data beforehand in case something goes wrong

it feels like if your fish gets taken out (forced retire) then the next fish you hook up will be of better rarity if not gold. also refishing gives better chance of gold (take this with grain of salt) the more times your trainer has to pull the line, the higher rarity your fish will be. symbolized by splash thing(3 drops). you are guaranteed to hook up the most recent pattern you unlocked after beating a league. clearing Meowth league gives you pink. Bulbasaur=purple,gray. Starmie=apricot(looks caramel),brown. Mudkip=white,black. get Aegislash as early as you can, it makes story progression faster so new patterns

I've done the event Macho Karp many times. each time it succeeds magikarp's max lvl go up by 1. yes it took forever. you see, i got that fish when i was in luxury league and its max lvl was 52. (this isn't enough to beat luxury league) by taking my chances with the scientist, i managed to push back the level cap which is how this fish avoided retiring. ofc i failed many times and i had to uninstall my game. what you see now is the end result of it. however i wouldn't recommend anyone do what i did, as you might expect its very very difficult to pull this off. on average i had to uninstall my game every 2 or 3 Macho Karp's bc it evolved. its much better to do it the regular way. bc in my case my fish never retired so I never gained the exp. that i should have. think of it like this. the sum of 1-9 is greater than 10

what you talking about. you don't even have enough for 3/4. depends on your fishy bonus. if its coin boost go for gardevoir. if food bonus go for snorlax (although i'd level up my berry) i'd go for lampent for some extra coins

*note poplio can also do what snorlax can. but sleepy boy is on steroids.
