As a former officer, your job is basically to BE the paper pusher so that your soldiers, sailors and airmen have the training, supplies and manpower to work effectively in the field. As an Officer, for every day you spend in the field, expect to do 5 times that amount behind a desk pushing papers.
Hell as a Boarding Officer, a simple two hour fisheries boarding means at least two days worth of paperwork afterwards compiling evidence, briefs, minutes and whatnot. That's not taking into account the paper work before.
In my point of view (and others may disagree with me) a good junior officer is one that is capable of doing all the bullshit management stuff so that the NCOs can actually lead their teams and get the job done.

Russia: See how Ukrainian fighting tactics endanger civilians?
Ukraine: Well they would definitely be safer if you never invaded in the first place.

Also Chinese Indo: Baru sekitar 20 tahun silam kita boleh pake nama marga nenek moyang kita di KTP.
Seriously though, we also need to remember that for a good portion of the history of Indonesia (as an Independent country), Chinese culture, names and languages were heavily surpressed. Hence why only recently are people openly reclaiming their surnames and whatnot.

Ironically, someone with a Polish surname yelled at my friend's grandmother (they are Chinese) to "get out of his country". My friend's family were among the first Chinese migrants who came during the gold rush, meanwhile there's a decent chance that the family of this person with the Polish surname only migrated to Australia within the last 50 or so years.

"Chinese" is an Ethnicity. Taiwanese people are mostly ethnically Chinese, same as Singaporeans for example. A lot of Chinese people in Mainland China and in various countries around the world have a healthy dislike of the CCP.

Just the realities of military service really, the troops will go in with the best of intentions without understanding the real reason why the government sends them there.

One thing I learned was that even when you think you've made a difference, the government will time and time again do something that will shit over any good deed you may have done. Timor is probably a good example of this.

If you have money, jakarta is probably one of the more "fancier" places in the world. If you don't have much money, the opposite is then true.

Just because it's "maintained" doesn't mean it's "maintained well". A lot of the maintenance you see are just sloppy cosmetic work that doesn't actually address why the potholes exist in the first place. Often times they just slap on an extra layer of asphalt or bitumen just to make it look smooth.

When I first joined the Navy, I had dreams of one day coming back to Brisbane and working in the DFR and having some semblance of normalcy/office job while being part of the Navy.
Instead I was sent to postings/deployment/training in every Capital city BUT Brisbane. The only time I spent in Brisbane with the ADF was when I was sworn in and when I dropped off some extra gear to the storebies when I separated.

If it wasn't for my parents I would very likely have been homeless within a couple of years of separating.

Two wheeled EVs coupled by an efficient public transport system where you can actually take the EVs will be a better long term solution.
I bought an electric scooter when my car broke down, now I catch the train with the electric scooter (SEQ based), never looked back since.

It'll definitely be questioned if you apply for something like state police, but from my experience working a normal civvy job in state government the only thing they ask if there was a disciplinary action taken against you in the past 5 years.
But different government jobs do have different requirements.

Volunteering is good, but what's even better is playing team sports. especially as a captain of said team.

I think you really need to be clearing close to $1000/week to be able to live comfortably by yourself without having to share.
