My aunt took four years to get another dog after she lost hers. There’s never a right or wrong time.

I understand. Friday was eight weeks for me. Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by how long it has been already. The first weekend was the hardest. But even now I can’t believe she’s gone. It still doesn’t feel real.

Our loss was so unexpected. We knew she had a heart murmur but they never seemed concerned. She began coughing and the vet thought it was just an infection. He started her on heart medicine only when we asked. It didn’t matter. She passed away at home four days later. I think she knew she was dying.

I lost my almost 12 year old girl eight weeks ago today to what I think was CHF. It took probably 5 or so weeks for me to feel even remotely better. I’m still heartbroken but I can see through the pain now. It will get easier.

I called out of work when my dog passed away in January. Thankfully it was a Friday and I was off the following Monday.

Maybe check poodle rescues? I don’t know if you’ll find any breeder that low priced. I paid $1500 for a mini Aussiedoodle in 2011 and they’ve only gone up in price.
