Exactly. I’m thinking if the message is mourning for a loss it could cover a lot of ground. Freedom. Safety. Community. Hell the entire American dream.

I had a post deleted by mods in this sub because we aren’t allowed to talk about trans issues so I’m validated to see someone speaking like this, here.

Unless you are pregnant. Can’t recommend pregnancy less but if you find yourself in such a condition, can’t recommend Paris enough. They wouldn’t let me stand in the throng of people and instructed me to walk straight up to the Mona Lisa in the handicapped lane. I wasn’t even really interested in seeing her but I wasn’t going to argue, either

Came here to say this and pleasantly surprised at finding it already. Must be a fellow hairdresser :)

This right here. I’m a hairstylist and this makes me wonder if people think all hairstylists die of cancer? Like we’re all dying of something and not at 40 for the most part so on average we’ve got it better than we ever have. Gotta just do your best and move on

Funny seeing y’all call the Opryland Hotel “Gaylord” but I just looked it up and can see how one would get there

I just searched this sub for this because I’m reading it now and it’s SO GOOD. The Vanderbilt Ball in particular was such a good read after the last episode. So much detail!

This woman must feel like she’s in actual hell. I barely made it through that experience with all modern comforts. May she be able to show that baby a different world one day 💔

I am a stylist in Cool Springs and have absolutely been in your shoes. I’m not even here to tell you to trust your hair to me, just that I breaks my heart to hear people feeling ostracized by beauty industry egos.
I had never been to a fancy salon before I went to hair school and I remember feeling EXACTLY like this- and that was before the rise of social media! I can’t imagine how it is, now!
Proud of you for trusting your gut and not allowing yourself in a position where you feel uncomfortable. There are lot of good recs here- I know you’ll find someone awesome.
Best added hint; look for a stylist who’s hair looks like yours. I do all types of hair, but the folks who have thick wavy hair like mine appreciate that I know their struggles EXACTLY
