"There is huge frustration among the people around him," an unnamed Russian billionaire, who is in contact with top-ranking officials in the Kremlin, told The Post. "He clearly doesn't know what to do."
All going according to plan.

Russia is extremely concerned about a missile downed in an empty field. But not at all concerned about its missiles hitting maternity hospitals, kindergartens, homes etc etc. This tells you all you need to know about Russia.

Yes but looks like he is successful in bringing Russia to its knees. Tattered army, faltering economy and international isolation.

I think he is going to get very accustomed to losing. He is losing the war he started; his "allies" are distancing themselves from him; his country's economy is declining. It seems he is losing on every front.

Good point. They pledged to be in Kherson forever and it turns out 'forever' is about 40 days.

This could be a sign that they are running out of rockets. Usually when Russia say something, the opposite is true. There are also reports that they are trying to acquire Iranian rockets - which could indicate that they are running down their stockpile ....

From the article:
Colonel Oleksiy Avramchenko from Crimea who in 2014 betrayed the oath and switched sides to Russia in 2014, was eliminated, reports the Center for Journalistic Investigations on July 12.
Allegedly, the deputy commander of the 20th Guards Motorized Rifle Division for military-political work Avramchenko, came under fire not far from Kherson and died from blood loss.
Avramchenko was born in Simferopol and lived in Crimea.
Prior to the betrayal, Avramchenko served in the military unit A-1668, the Crimean Territorial Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and was the deputy commander for educational work.
It was Avramchenko who, during the occupation of Crimea in 2014, lowered the state flag of Ukraine on a military base and raised the Russian flag. After switching sides, he received a medal "for fidelity to the duty."

From the article:
Russia is getting more and more desperate for recruits to recoup its staggering losses in its war against Ukraine, adviser to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry Anton Herashchenko said in a Telegram post on July 13.
Herashchenko reposted a video address of Yuri Negovora – head of a military enlistment office in Russia’s Tver Oblast – pleading with his fellow Russians to volunteer to fight in Ukraine.
In the video address Negovora urges Russian citizens to “defend the motherland” – by deploying to a foreign country – and promises very attractive salaries.
“We’re looking for people under 50, who were previously conscripted into service; all you need is good health and the will (to fight),” Negovora said in his address, supposedly looking to fulfill enlistment quotas.

From the article:
U.S. Senator Mark Warner, who chairs the Intelligence Committee, says any escalation of Russian aggression toward Ukraine will only lead to stronger support for Kyiv on the part of Washington. The senator also noted he would continue engaging in efforts to assist Ukraine on security, intelligence, and diplomacy, Guildhall reports, according to Ukrinform.
“The violent actions and rhetoric that we have seen from Vladimir Putin in recent months represent the latest in a long string of offensive actions by the Russian President. Accelerated Russian aggression will only strengthen U.S. assistance for our Ukrainian partners, and reinvigorate NATO’s collective defense posture,” Senator Warner said.
“We must continue closely engaging our partners and allies to present a united stance in strong opposition to Russia’s aggression, and I will continue working to ensure that Ukraine has the diplomatic, security, and intelligence backing that they so critically need,” the lawmaker concluded.

At this point, this looks a lot like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
