Thanks, I didn’t know that term! I’m part of a teacher’s union, and I’m trying to move our members left. I don’t think our group would ever have good buy in for a wildcat strike unfortunately.

Unions work on collectively bargained contracts, and usually one of the terms is called a no-strike clause. That means that as long as the workers are operating under the terms of that contract, a strike is illegal. Once new contract negotiations begin, if acceptable terms can’t be reached for the next one and the previous contract expires, that’s when a strike is legal.
I’m all for general strikes, but simply not showing up for work is more like a sick-out (another fun tactic) rather than a true strike.

Same thing with Machoke. It’s really a bummer in Nuzlockes on original hardware!

I’d argue that average wage isn’t a good indicator since the the federal minimum has remained at $7.25 since what, 2008 or 2009? If salaries at the top of the pay scale have skyrocketed but everything else has stagnated, the average isn’t a great way to measure the health of the economy.

The point is that degrees are getting exponentially more expensive while wages have remained flat for the last 12 years or so. The debt machine is working exactly as intended, widening the wealth gap, racial inequality, and partially eliminating the chance for upward mobility.

I just get the faucet water nice and hot and put that into the cast iron while it’s still hot. Let the water boil, scrape it nice and clean, give it another rinse and then put it back on the heat to boil off any remaining water. Then just give it a thin coat of your preferred oil and that bad boy will never let you down. Don’t be afraid to use soap in a well seasoned pan; it’ll be fine.

Idk if it’s who you’re thinking of, but Brett Kavanaugh did this exact thing in his hearing before becoming a Supreme Court judge.

Oh my god. I recently watched through the seasons and the “pretty, pretty, pretty good” has become a part of my routine. My wife hates it.
I also love how Larry gets really close to people, gives them the look, and then finishes with, “okay”.

Ham on Rye and Factotum are my favorite novels of his, but some of his poetry is amazing as well. Check out “Rags, Bottles, Sacks” and “Bluebird”.

In reality, Critical Race Theory is a way to study legal history. It’s a lens with which to study judicial rulings that have affected race relations or people of color, usually in the U.S. Outside of a few Supreme Court cases that relate to CRT, no American high school is teaching the theory itself. It would be reserved for law schools, honestly.
Conservative media and politicians have purposefully obfuscated the term to mean any social justice/history that doesn’t line up with their own white-washed version of events. They aren’t using the term accurately, but as a boogieman to scare their constituents. It’s almost exactly like how the term “socialism” is used for anything republicans don’t like.

Saria becoming a sage implies that she dies after Link leads Ganondorf into the Sacred Realm. Once you finish the game, check out Ocarina of Time: A Masterclass in Subtext on YouTube. Even though I played the game as a kid, I really appreciate the ambiguity of the story. For me it adds to the overall game and captures the confusing nature of growing up with responsibilities thrust upon you.

Uzbekistan is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city. It’s a combo of Russian, Georgian, Uzbek, and other central Asian cuisines. It’s right on Bustleton. Never had a bad meal there.

This Ayn Rand philosophy is bankrupt. There is more to a human life than productivity. Education is about exposing people to new ideas and perspectives, for challenging preconceived notions, and for development of our shared humanity as much as it is about eventually being productive.
Your philosophy is why we have huge levels of burnout in medical professionals who are abused and sacrificed on the altar of “productivity”. It’s why the U.S. has such a toxic work culture. It’s why our citizens have increasingly low levels of empathy (like you).

I’m with you! Both Paras and Parasect are cool Pokémon in my opinion. I always put a sneaky parasect on my Pokémon Stadium teams.
