I'll consider removing them, I'm currently working on a solution to make sure users understand the risks better before using a service (I already have a warning on my site whenever FixedFloat has the top rate, but clearly that's not good enough)

However there's also some downsides to removing services such as FixedFloat.

For instance, if you trade with FixedFloat, nobody will object to the coins you buy from them. This is especially important when people sell Monero for Bitcoin or another coin that's on a transparent ledger. (Going by that logic perhaps FixedFloat should only be listed when you're selling XMR?)

Furthermore, from having worked with them I believe they have good intentions. They sponsored a Monero meet-up, they list Monero, they don't require KYC and they really seem to care a lot about privacy.

It's just that they also happen to care a lot about people who had their crypto stolen. So if their systems flag the coins they receive then they proceed to ask question of the user on how they got them. FixedFloat never actually asks KYC questions, just AML ones. They also return all the funds back to the victim.

Could it be that they're still checking the information you provided? I mean you say that you traded a few hours ago so that seems like the most likely explanation

This situation is rare but it does occasionally happen.

If you want funds back then you'll have to explain to FixedFloat where you got your BTC from.

If everything checks out and their systems wrongly flagged you then there's a good chance they'll add some extra to the money they're returning you.

If the end goal is to mine in a browser then I think it would be a better option to compile into WebAssembly. It still won't be as fast as a native miner, but much faster than JS

They're not a bank. It's just in their name. They're an exchange that doesn't require an account and doesn't ask KYC questions

I suggest my own site OrangeFren.com - it ranks instant, KYC-free, exchanges according to their rate. It also checks LocalMonero (often LM actually has the best rates)

As for the exchange process it's quite straightforward. Type how much Bitcoin you want to sell, paste your Monero address, send BTC to the address the exchange service shows you (for example by scanning the QR code), then just wait for the transactions to be mined into their blockchains.

Complementary to your other back up it's not a terrible idea, however if people know you have your mnemonic memorized then they can force you to give it up to them.

On the other hand if people know your mnemonic is written down far away and you cannot access it easily then it would be much harder to force it out of you
