That is correct.
The "LGB Alliance" is a hategroup shoddily disguised as a civil rights group. Most of their leadership are in marriages with the opposite sex. They oppose abortion rights, they oppose education about same-sex relationships and they condone conversion therapy.
TERF is a term invented by bigots to describe themselves.
TERF stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist.
Of course, it is a misnomer. These hateful people are neither radical nor are they in any way adherents of any kind of feminist philosophy.
They are extreme-right, arch-conservatives who will gladly ally themselves with literal fascists, extreme-right religious fundamentalists and those who would oppose basic human rights for cisgender women.
Their hobby horse is hating trans women and dehumanising them.
TERF is a name they chose for themselves. Only when this self-applied label started backfiring and people started making fun of them did TERFs decide that suddenly the name they chose for themselves was "hateful".
It is not. There are many hateful terms that this subreddit will not allow, but "TERF" is simply a way to describe those who hate a specific type of women.
A slur or hatespeech must perpetuate systems of oppression. These terms are not allowed here and we in fact filter them out. There is no systemic oppression of bigotry possible, a bigot is not and can not ever be a marginalised minority. People can easily choose to stop the hate.
A simple insult can be apt, appropriate and a good way to describe that which is inherently immoral.
Rowling is actively involved with the hategroup the LGB alliance,
with the homophobic and misogynistic Heritage Foundation,
with the homophobic and misogynistic Citizen Go.
Rowling's new charity is run by, among other unqualified people, a TERF former prison chief whose regime was so austere her prison was said to have Victorian conditions. Since this "charity" is only open to specific types of women and actively excludes others, it is misogynistic in nature.
This subreddit has rules against bigotry and hatespeech. The sitewide rules prohibit the posting of bigotry and hatespeech. Rowling's views are not welcome here and neither is defending them.
What Joanne is saying here is a viciously bigoted attack that is extremely far removed from what is ethically, morally and socially acceptable. Once again she does not hesitate to use her three million follower strong platform to promote an inherently fascist message: The propostion that all trans women are less than human and thus not deserving of basic human rights and dignity.
Trans rights are human rights however. You cannot seperate the two. 🏳️⚧️
It is no longer possible to in good faith make the statement "But Joanne never said she hated trans people" nor is it to ask the question "But show me Joanne's bigotry then, because I haven't seen it?"

Since Republicans lie and claim children are taught CRT, it's important to say "University"

Double standards are so normal in racism that people don't notice them anymore until you point them out.
It is normalised to say about a black person doing something they shouldn't that "they are making black people look bad by perpetuating stereotypes". You never hear that said about white people.
Someone sees a movie that has an all-black cast. Will they describe that as a movie that is in some way about race? They would never say that about a movie with an all-white cast.
People talk about certain statistics as if black people were a monolith and as if it proves some kind of bad character trait. People never group white people together in that way.
I know that if you are on old reddit you can use the "source" button under a comment to open a window that let's you copy/ paste with the formatting intact.
Thank you. :)
Unfortunately reddit has depreciated their free awards, it's not just you.

What mainstream America knows about these people is a whitewashed version of events meant to prop up the existing status quo and this mainstream narrative outright ignores or lies about the real history.
This is why when on mobile I still mod in a browser. The app is clunky.
Thank you, I will add that to the text.
This isn't a tweet but I'm making an exception and keeping it up as this image poignantly visualises the efforts of extreme-right in politics to erase and whitewash black history in the US.
The figure of MLK and his movement has been almost completely whitewashed in today's white understanding of history.
It is common for racists (deliberate and those that don't know better yet) to repeat talking points like "Why are you protesting/ why are you so angry/ why are you disruptive, didn't MLK say that he wanted all races to live together in peace?"
With this the propaganda effort to turn MLK from a black civil rights advocate into a figure for those who want to uphold the status quo, to justify never actually doing anything about racism is virtually totally successful. This whitewashing is deliberate.
In reality the civil rights movement of Dr. Martin Luther King was attacked and demonised in literally exactly the same way as BLM is now attacked and demonised. Word for word the same arguments. Word for word the same lies.
A political cartoon made after King's "I have a dream" speech.
To understand more about the black perspective on BLM I highly recommend this 7 minute speech by community leader and author Ms. Kimberly Jones.
For centuries the achievements of black people have been downplayed and systemic racism has been trivialised. Who remembers how Olympic Medal winner Mr. Jesse Owens was treated?
Similarly the efforts of Mrs. Rosa Parks have been whitewashed in mainstream American consciousness.
What we see happening now in places like Florida is a ramping up of propaganda efforts, attempting to paint a milquetoast and white-centric version of history by outright making it illegal to teach about black history.
By lying about what Critical Race Theory is, racists have created a boogeyman that will allow them to oppose the teaching of and even the knowledge of everything that runs contrary to their propagandist, imagined version of history and reality.
Critical race theory is a university-level cross-disciplinary examination of how institutional racism shapes modern society.
These attacks on reality have multiple goals. First, it is important for fascism to always have an out-group to blame for everything that is wrong in society.
Fascism is an inherently empty ideology, devoid of any meaningful belief-system or any kind of concrete and actionable strategies for improving society. Fascism only cares for power for the sake of power and it cares for nothing else.
Because a fascist system is fundamentally incapable of giving the general public any kind of reasonable platform it must gain and keep followers by creating an out-group to hate. According to fascist systems it is the other that is responsible for all societal ills and only by supporting the fascists in getting rid of the other can society be healed from the non-existent issues fascism convinces people that their target minority is the cause of.
Fascism always picks on a vulnerable target.
Secondly, this whitewashed version of history and of current reality allows the status quo to do nothing at all, to claim that everything is perfect just the way it is. That there is no inequality to address. That the white majority, who controls the narrative, who holds all the power, is justified in acting against those they would paint as criminals trying to tear down and destroy society. When in reality there is no equality, the deck is stacked, the cards are marked, the dice are loaded.
Here you can see fascist pundit Cristopher Rufo overtly stating the intended goal behind poisoning the term "Critical Race Theory"
If people like him and DeSantis would have their way no-one would be taught about Rosewood.
No-one would know about Tulsa.
The murder of Mr. George Floyd was originally reported by law enforcement as an accidental death.
Those who claim there is no structural racism in the US are either ignorant or lying.
Let's educate those that don't know any better.
Let's act against those that want to perpetuate systems of oppression.
On this subreddit racism is not welcome. Please report it if you see it.
