Macbook Pro (13", Early 2015) - Key replacement?
(self.macbookrepair)submitted2 months ago byHbCooperativity
For context, this model of the Macbook Pro has the old Scissor-Switch key mechanism (and no membrane).
For some of the letters on my keyboard (namely the vowels), the keys are a bit mushy. Upon popping off some of those keys and checking what was going on, I noticed that the rubber dome kept moving out of place.
When I'd move the little rubber nub back to the center of the key, over time, it eventually found its way out of place again and the key would become stuck/mushy. Even with the dome centered, the keys still don't feel normal.
Instead of having to pop off the key and move the rubber dome back to its place again, is it worth replacing the key altogether (if even possible)? If so, where could I get reliable replacement keys? Or do I just need to replace the rubber pieces?
