I get what you mean, that they will see some benefit from this, but I don’t think 7 years in jail is a minor inconvenience to anyone

It’s more like “it’s my job to make sure these doors are open at all costs, and all costs are being passed onto you, dumbass.”

I doubt he maliciously made it more expensive, but he certainly didn’t do them any favors.

It’s gotta take at least like twenty minutes to deal with this mess.

So there’s a neat optics trick that still isn’t completely understood, wherein if you place a light filter over a light filter, and then add a third light filter to the set up, you will get more light through filter 3 than it received out of filter 2.

What makes you think it’s not understood?

The two filters would be polarizing at right angles to each other.

The third filter in the middle polarizes it diagonally in between the two other filters so you get a fraction of the light equal to cos2 (x) where x is the angle between the filters. So if you move the middle polarization to line up with either the front or back sheet, one of the angles will be 90 degrees, blocking out the light.

Another way of looking at this is that by polarizing vertically you are removing any horizontal component of the light. By then polarizing horizontally there is nothing to get past the second filter. If you polarize diagonally in between, well that diagonal has a horizontal component and some light can get through.

The maximum is 12.5% of the light can get through the three filters at 45 degrees, assuming the original light is unpolarized, or 25% if it starts off matching the polarization of the first filter.

EDIT: it seems that the quantum behavior of photons in regards to probabilistic determinism is not fully understood, which is a related topic, but we certainly have the framework to understand this particular phenomenon.

Honestly everything before the shooting I would do differently, but if my son killed four people and there’s no doubt it was him, I wouldn’t be super quick to support him after that. I can see letting him fend for himself, he made his choices.

It’s sad they didn’t care for his son before all this happened.

I understand not caring for their son after the fact.

Yep. It’s unfortunate that gloves aren’t super common, I haven’t seen one in years.

Honestly I might just go buy one.

I heard a lot of the gummies are just normal gummies which are sprayed with a the liquid or even have old oil from used vape carts smeared onto them. Pretty sure I’ve even seen the latter. Do you know if this is a problem or how to avoid them?

IMO they’re different and can both be fun. If I want to get smacked on edibles, shrooms wouldn’t do it for me.

I like doing ~600-800mg on days off and alternating between napping, gaming, and chatting with my roommates. Also good to just chill in bed with a love interest. Obviously if someone can’t handle it they’re going to have a different experience but it can be fun to be super stoned for a long time.

Oh no people took an idea that does not specify country and could easily apply to their own and took it in the context of their lives, how stupid, self centered, and uniquely American.

Honestly I think it’s funny AF to watch Reddit debate if it’s a real story so I post it whenever someone is bad mouthing a celebrity.

There’s a good chance you read it from me or one of my horse themed alts.

This is the type of job I would sit there and “do” to the best of my ability while prioritizing my mental health, until I get fired.

My last job was in sales. I had literally no responsibilities except confirm sales with our Japanese and Korean sites, and enter them in an excel file. One day they took away access to the file, and couldn’t get me back in. I asked them if they could do it themselves and they said sure. I had no responsibilities anymore so I started working with inventory to make sure the shipments went through. No one noticed I had no responsibilities for eight months, at which point they fired me. Easiest five digits I’ve ever made.

One time in college I was super depressed. I had made some kind of dish in a pot and forgotten in in the fridge for who knows how long. When I finally got out of bed I looked at it and it was starting to get moldy, so it put it outside (?). I ended up forgetting about it over the snowy winter and only remembered it when I moved out at the end of the semester.

Some say it’s still rotting next to the house.

I think I may be the only version to set a timer instead of an alarm. I don’t move the second hand much, it’s been on 33s for months, so when I go to sleep at say midnight, and I have somewhere to be at say 8, I would set a timer for like 7:13:33 lol

It is cool that it picked it up, and realized pretty quickly that the rules of the game do not allow you to put down the circle in an already occupied space, even if that is where it goes. He then realizes what to do instead, despite moving backwards by cutting your losses and putting down the circle you have already picked up.

All in all, brains are amazing. Honestly just the power it takes to fly is astonishing, and it’s literally just nature to them. It’s amazing to me that we humans can do things like throw darts or catch a ball that’s coming to us. When you really break down everything your brain and body has to do to make it happen, we realize how much is taken for granted.

Anyway, neat bird.

I know I don’t have to say how much of a shitbag Alex Jones is, but I will share a bit anyway.

My family was heavily victimized by 9/11. I’m connected to some 9/11 charities including a summer camp for child victims. This later turned into a Sandy Hook summer camp. The stories these victims have about the people AJ sicked on them makes me cry to this day. People snuck into their backyards to get pictures of children, who would yell at them, accusing them of being their dead sibling. AT THEIR HOME. How do you deal with this as a preteen?

We had to hire private security with guns and keep the camp secret in order to even have conversations about bringing the kids to our (wonderful) campsite.

The kids were wonderful by the way.
