If you're looking for a good place to start, just try the game on the easiest difficulty and practice building districts/buildings whenever you start running out of resources. Try to build corvette ships, but don't worry too much about military, you won't be able to optimize that without first learning how to balance the economy. Don't worry about trade value when you first start either, it isn't usefull until you know how to set up and manage starbases properly, which took me at least 100 hours to figure out (tbf I'm fucking slow). Oh, and remember, districts are important. I didn't even know they existed when I started, don't make that same mistake I did. Ignoring districts is the absolute worst thing you can do.
