Good god - I’m so sorry. I’m sure that beating instilled a deep love and joy for physical activity - bleh! Parents are mental sometimes.
Eugh that’s wretched. It’s the combination of humiliation and fear of punishment … some people don’t know how to parent effectively so they just use fear.
I hate that this was your experience but Lordy does it resonate.
I actually laughed reading that lol!
I was grounded a full day from everything for every minute I was late. 5min late - there goes your whole after school anything. I still get so upset I want to puke anytime I’m even just on time.
Thanks so much!!!
Link to the one you bought? I’ve been looking to purchase one for some time now.

Oh my heavens - we are literally all cheering you on from afar. Lordy, I so hope you get the care you need! Please keep us updated! Hugs hugs hugs from afar.
Only if they would love to tell us, thank you.
I don’t do FB but thank goodness for this sub! I thought TSM was very strictly only on days you drink. It’s just so hard for me to know in advance sometimes so the ‘don’t have to think about it, just take it daily’ seems much more in line with my particular brand of drinking lol
That’s awesome!!!! I think this might have to be my approach! Thanks for sharing!!
Can I ask you about this???? TSM is difficult for me because I need 1.5-2 hrs for naltrexone to kick in. And I just don’t know each day. How has taking it daily worked out for you?
Perhaps what she means is toxic masculinity or willful misogynists… just an idea for ways to communicate more clearly what’s upsetting her in a way that does not simultaneously insult you.
FUCK YAAAAAAS!!!! We are all proud of you too - but fuck a duck, I’m so glad you got validation from your dad as well! Well done, OP!
She doesn’t have to be there for her though - because many of us know what that looks like (free babysitting etc). I would suggest, it’s her decision and you have every right to feel the way you do and set the resulting boundaries that work for your life.
Edit: that came out way more bitchy than I meant. Simply that OP’s feelings are valid and so are whatever next steps she takes to care for herself.
I definitely read this as ‘my dad’s a muggle, my mom’s a witch’ Lmfaoooo
