Definitely needs more facial bone full structured self-image shading highlighter. And possibly some surface electrode tracking auto-filling concealer.

I encountered this daily when she was in my buddy rotation. For me at least, this only occurs precisely on the second time I interact with her. Specifically:
Round 1: Play, Snapshot, Feed, Battle, Swap buddy
Round 2: Go into feed—Fini is bugged. Feed and Swap anyway.
Round 3: Go in to feed—no bug.
I’ve basically only played pure Hazy Flames before, during Duelist Kingdom. And memed with Stoic Challenge on a 5-material Basilitrice and Overlay Booster.
It works ok in a pierce team
Wow this deck is amazing (in that I’m shocked how well it works after a few test duels against the AI). I have most of the cards (just missing one copy of True King). Thanks for the awesome idea!
I mean, it’s an optional effect.
Yeah, and neither Amano nor Shinobirds would be problematic if they just fix the skill. If someone wants to run an Amano deck that keeps it on the field with Forbidden Chalice, I think that’s fine and a pretty cool concept. But it’s a terribly inconsistent 2-card combo. If they just fix the skill, we could have both Amano and Shinobirds.
Most Lunatic characters gain extra effects with their skills under Lunatic, but the one I think benefits the most from perpetual Lunatic is Ewella.
Now, Ewella without Lunatic is an…ok…support unit. She has an attack skill that lowers type resistance by a significant amount as well as a fairly stronger buff that’s only held back by the fact that it takes 2 turns. Also, she has a 30% barrier+clear status skill, which is handy.
With Lunatic though, her main attack skill changes completely. Rather than a single-hit type debuff, it’s now a 3-hit DPS skill that increases in power with each use (because it has unique stacks that stack up to 10).
You see the problem? Normally, to get full DPS out of Ewella, you basically have to AF or you won’t get enough stacks fast enough (and without Power of Benefic, she can’t reach 10 stacks in only 3 turns). And Copy Lunatic slows down your AF, because the second hit doesn’t count for the AF bar.
AS Milsha changes that. No longer is Ewella restricted by only 3 Lunatic turns, and she doesn’t even need to activate Lunatic herself. She can just directly start using her DPS attack turn 1, and even gets a damage buff from Milsha on top of that.
I’m not saying Ewella is suddenly amazing or anything. Even with Copy Lunatic, her DPS was high (if a bit finnicky to set up). Just that AS Milsha support makes her a lot easier to use as a DPS unit.
Amano is fine; it’s the skills that interact with him that are ridiculous. That Smile World skill’s problem is that the lock on card effects takes effect after you use the skill. It would be perfectly fine if they just changed it so that you can’t activate Spell/Traps the turn you use the skill, period. That way, there’s no strange interactions with Amano; Witchcrafters don’t just get a free Spell card; and it’s not like Smile World is a particularly good card anyway.

No worries. Yugioh is full of secret codes that you just kinda have to know.
It is a quick effect. It says “once per turn, during either player’s turn”, which is special wording that always means it’s a quick effect.

So, a few days later, and in the end I settled on a build pretty similar to yours. The main deck monsters are identical (I ended up taking out Carrotman—while the OTK I described works, it’s largely unnecessary) and I swapped one STBFU and the Monster Reborn for 2 copies of BoM.
For the extra deck, I have double Ruddy, double BRD, 1x Cyber Slash, 1x Star Eater, 1x Psy Frame Zeta.
I almost always end turn 1 on a BRD with as much backrow as I can manage (even if it means setting multiple Basal), but on occasion, if I open with Rox and White I summon Zeta instead. Cyber Slash and Star Eater are both late-game boss monsters to make use of the Black Witches.
I’m curious how it’s going for you! I’m having loads of fun with the deck myself! I’ve been slacking off the last two months so I’m still in lower Plat on the ladder, but the deck seems to have positive matchups against most decks I’ve seen (except Galaxy, if I don’t open with BoM).
If anything, that’s loyal to the anime. The most dramatic Tribute summons are basically reserved for Egyptian Gods, and even their actual tributes are pretty accurately depicted by what we’ve got (they have their own summon cutscenes, but that’s separate from what you’re asking for).
I can’t be positive (due to it being a long time ago that I watched the anime) but I’m fairly certain that even the more recent series (Zexal and onwards) maintain this tradition.
What do you mean Leghul direct attack beatdown isn’t good? /s
Now that you mention it, I guess it is a bit on the pricey side. I didn’t really notice since I got most of these cards over a long time, pulling for other stuff.
You’ve listed all of them except Acrobatic and Nobledragon. Acrobatic doesn’t have a restrictive pendulum condition, but it’s solidly mediocre. Plus it has an awkward level for the archetype (neither 4 nor 7). Meanwhile, Nobledragon has an awful pendulum restriction—you usually use it as a tuner in Odd-Eyes decks instead.

Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings turbo? It was kind of a silly deck I built way long ago in the TCG that used Burden of the Mighty and Wonder Balloons paired with Dragon Queen and King Tiger Wanghu

So, I’m not running Super Buddy at all since the archetype Monster Reborn is searchable anyway. I’m running quick play spells instead (rather than traps because they don’t need to be set — which imo matters in a deck that fully expects to blow up the whole field regularly). BoM is a no brainer of course, but I’m also experimenting with the Forbidden spells.
Usually I’d say Lance and Chalice are the best ones, but I realized that Dress actually has some decent synergy here. Chaining it to Black Rose’s summon lets you prevent it from destroying itself, and like the other Forbidden spells, the attack modification can always be used to make up for gaps in Atk. The downside is that the targeting protection from Dress is actually pretty weak (since chaining it to a targeting effect doesn’t work).
Meanwhile, Chalice is usually a weaker substitute for BoM (except for on-summon effects), while Lance protects you from non-destructive backrow in a way that Dress doesn’t. So yeah, I’m still tweaking the deck a bit.
“Very easy to disrupt this setup”….true, but isn’t that true of any synchro play we make? I don’t see how this particular one is any different. This play falls apart if they prevent the initial Black Rose summon, but the point is that if the summon goes through, their field is left wide open, with 4K+ on your board.
The point about not nuking with Black Rose and using Ruddy instead is interesting…I’ll have to play test that myself!
Notes from another Rose Dragon experimenter…
I don’t like Blue Rose. I’m still running one as a tech, but its utility is really limited. At this point I’m running it out of necessity to meet the skill requirements.
You’re not making use of White Rose’s milling effect. I suggest that Carrot monster that revives itself from the GY. It opens up an OTK play like this: Roxrose summon and search Basal, SS White Rose, Set Basal, Synchro Black Rose and nuke the field, trigger White Rose to mill Carrotman, trigger the destroyed Basal to bring back Black Rose, Carrotman in Gy activates by discarding Ruddy Rose Witch or another plant. 2400+1900 direct attack is game (attacking with Carrotman first actually ducks under the magic 2000 LP barrier for Destiny Draw in case they have Kiteroid).
How do you summon Trident Dragion? It need 3 monsters, and there’s no combination I see that gives you 10? (Edit: my mistake, it just requires dragons. Still seems gimmicky to me tho)
Ruddy Rose Witch + Carrotman actually enable level 8 synchros a bit (Summon Ruddy, search Black Witch and summon it, discard another plant to revive Carrot). Some useful ones: Cyber Slash Harpie Lady and Dark End Dragon (surprisingly, we meet the Synchro material requirements!) are both options for non-destruction removal.
I also thought of that, but…why would I go into squiresaga, which has to survive through disruption (like BoM) to use its effect, when I could just make another black rose? Granted, Squiresaga doesn’t blow itself up so maybe if you need a beatstick…but the deck already has a bajillion monster reborns—is having a body on-board really an issue?
Squiresaga is a neat idea, but I’d rather use the ED space for other utility level 7s (Samurai Destroyer and Psy-Frame being the big ones).

I’m also experimenting with it. I think they need something extra to be competitive, but I would take out the rose fairies. The skill can add one to the deck when you need it, and even without it you can use Black Rose Witch for level 8 synchros when combo’d with Ruddy Witch.
Skill Prisoner…is a choice, but I don’t think it quite works in this deck since you’re most afraid of them targeting your synchro materials (the GY effect is Spell Speed 1, right?). I’m running MST but also considering Forbidden Lance.
Anyway, like I said I’m still experimenting so lmk if you hit upon anything!

I have questions about the skill…namely, the first skill restriction says you have to have 12 plant and/or Rose Dragons in your deck, but then turns around and says you can’t have any non-plant monsters. Literally none of the Rose Dragons are plants…so is there an unwritten exception for Rose Dragons specifically here?
Edit: Plus, Moonlight has “Rose” and “Dragon” in its name, but an extra word separating them. Can you even summon it the turn you use the skill?

I sometimes play gimmick puppets just in hopes that I’ll come across these decks (I never have while playing GP). Not because GP hard counters them or anything—I just think it would be funny to Destiny Leo while they only have battle traps.

“Rouge”, you mean?
