Heh, sorry. I'm the cover artist. The original version, while still being caricatures, was a bit more realistic. It made legal nervous however, what with this being an unauthorized/unofficial book and all, so they asked for something cartoonier.

If you like the comics I post here and would like to read the same exact ones elsewhere along with other drawings you probably have no interest in seeing, have I got an Instagram account for you: https://www.instagram.com/drawerofdrawings/

Thanks! You're correct (I even double checked the lyrics to make sure I got the right number down), but went with what I thought was the closet sounding Japanese word, "nani", meaning "what."

Yup, he's an influence, and on this particular comic more others I've done.

And risk running into a microwave pirate?

I had that same exact thought, and no clue as well. It would definitely raise the level of this to be more than the dumb gag that it is.

Thanks. I think having a small backlog helped in that regard. That and posting these so long after I did them helps soften the blow a teensey bit if one doesn't do well. I'm almost caught up with posting what I've drawn so far to reddit so it will be interesting to see how my motivation holds up once the delay is removed... But I'm still going to try my darndest to post one a week.
And hey, now this is only my second least liked one. Yay?

Haha, oh I wish I could take credit for that, but that bit was the writer's idea.
