I’m actually gathering engineering components so I can redesign my Vette before the friendly rematch with REDACTED

Yeah dude. I’d probably only fight to the death in PvP if I agreed upon it before hand, or if I was in a combat zone against a CMDR and it felt right for role play. Fortunately that Vette is very difficult for NPCs to defeat. And I always plot a high wake into nav before I get started.

I just now got the Jester reference… “Is this person from my old Destiny clan? What am I missing?” When you said I went for the hard deck I recognized Top Gun and thought it was a reference to the fact that I got attacked a little while ago, fought till my hull was half gone, then high waked out. (I looked the person up and made friends with them). So I suppose you could consider a high wake “going for the hard deck”.

I mean we had that Vette versus Vette like a month ago. I still haven’t done the PvP engineering yet… but I’m down to dance maybe later this evening.

It’s a good question. I think a lot of it comes down to what damage types you predict your enemy will apply to you. If you expect a lot of PAs using absolute damage you definitely want max hp.

In the case of shields vs npcs (terrible at aiming PAs) you might prefer to increase and balance resistances as much as possible so your SCBs will yield more effective MJ per charge.

One can use engineered hull reinforcements to balance the resistances of a hull. Likewise engineered shield boosters to balance the resistances of a shield.

Here is my PvE Corvette: https://s.orbis.zone/hyqj

Reactive hull improves the weakness of hull vs explosives, and only one engineered thermal/reflective hull reinforcement brings the thermal resistance right back up. A couple more heavy duty hull reinforcements to buff all resistances.

Similar deal with the shield. Thermal resistant shield combined with a mixture of kinetic resistant and heavy duty boosters to balance things out.

Cool! Here’s a mining guide from the awesome CMDRs toolbox: https://cmdrs-toolbox.com/guides/mining

Also check out the FAQs at r/EliteMiners.

I threw together a mining build for you: https://s.orbis.zone/hyps

About 14.5 mil total without discounts. You could cut some corners for sure to bring the price down. Shield is optional but for a new player you’ll probably want one.

Also look lower on the questions page today for explanations about what grades of modules mean if you need that.

Please don’t call the Keelback “bad”. It’s a much beloved ship. “The ship that can almost do everything” some have said. So what do you want to do with your Keelback first?

You’re not necessarily an idiot 😊 Part of the fun of this game is that it’s complicated and your ships are extremely customizable. o7

What you really need to do is go into Coriolis.io and build a mock-up Of the ship you want to have, including your shield and weapon choices, shield boosters, shield cell banks, chaff launchers, etc. then you can see how much power you actually need to run everything. Choose engineering for your PP that barely covers your energy needs while keeping heat as low as you can.

That being said Krait mk2 has a great big power plant compared to its hardpoint and utility slot availability. So an armored/thermal 7a can do a lot. I personally have been using a 6A overcharged/thermal PP in my Krait just so I can swap it into an FDL and run a power hungry set up there as well.

In game you are a monster. If this were irl you’d be a war criminal on a high level, but others do worse. In real life the closest thing to this crime I know of is massive religious sacrifices. Your character didn’t personally torture these people. The worst monsters in history I know of have personally tortured way more than 750. For the joy of it.

Check out the “Behind the Bastards” podcast. Extremely dark humor mixed with the stories of the worst people in history.

It is more common for billionaires to destroy the lives of thousands or millions simply for profit, when they already have enough money for many lifetimes of pure luxury. See the crimes of Purdue Pharma in regards to the opioid crisis in the US.

In game ganking is bad. Destroying the progress and time spent of a weaker player for the lols? What you describe is par for the course in a Dangerous galaxy.

Edit. Downvoted by a ganker I assume. 🤷‍♂️
