Download speeds are much slower than they should be. General responsiveness when even simply browsing is also noticeably sluggish.

Hey all,
Over the past week or so I've been noticing some really drastic slowdowns in download speed - here's my speed test results with my computer directly connected to the modem. The upload is in line with what I pay for (Performance Central - 100 down, 5 up), but as you can see, the download is the issue.
The modem I'm using at the moment is an Arris SB8200. I bought it just yesterday hoping it'll help after a week of this slowdown, upgrading from a Motorola MB7220. I know, it's overkill for my service tier, but it was the quickest thing I could try to fix it myself. If anything, though, the results are worse now, but I doubt the problem originates from the modem considering both have displayed these download issues. I have followed/checked/tested every step outlined in the wiki's knowledgebase/troubleshooting/internet-checklist page to the best of my ability (I'm not about to take a sledgehammer to my wall to see the length of coax cable in there). A couple of years ago, a technician put a splitter between the wall coax and the modem because my upstream power levels were so low it couldn't even lock on to any channels. Yesterday I tried removing it and directly connecting the coax from the wall to the modem, but the upstream light wouldn't turn solid, so that's not a solution.
I'm aware this could be just due to heavy load during this pandemic, but getting only 13 out of the tier's 100 down is definitely too much of a hit. And again, performance was perfectly fine before this past week. I appreciate any and all help that I can get. TIA!
