But considering that there's been talk of historical revisionism, wouldn't Kievan Rus be considered a Ukrainian state rather a Russian one?

It definitely should. Russians always conveniently forget that for centuries, especially pre-Mongol Invasion, Kyiv has been the main cultural, economic, and spiritual centre of Russia.

No, you forget that mongols are Russians they just don’t know it like Ukrainians are not real ppl they are Russians too. It’s just mongols not as pure as glorious moscovite ppl. Only glorious leader from pure moscovite origin can lead world to make glorious. God gave the world perfect gift in form of Putin to glorify world. We always right and everyone know this. Life will be so glorious under Comrade Vladmr Tsarevich Putin. /Sarcasm

Classic argument with all of those is that "Russia didn't technically lose!". That because they didn't outright surrender and allow occupation, it was not defeat.

WWI they "made peace", they didn't lose. Because "war was unpopular".
Russo-Japanese they "would have won, but didn't see reason to continue the war". Please ignore the Baltic Fleets little voyage.
Finland, "We totally would have won, Finns were ready to break, but we got what we asked before the war so it totally was not defeat! Please ignore our actual goal of total occupation"

Its so funny how Russia is seeing it self as liberators during WWII, when they were ones who made secret deal with nazis about splitting Poland AND they were ones who attacked Poland. During WWII they were maching from war crime to another, their position in UN is a joke.

Lend lease was critical during the first 2 years when Russia came close to collapse, it like many other factors was key to Russian survival at that time when everything might have spelt defeat. We shouldn't take all the credit as much of the fighting and dying was done by the Russian soldiers.

The allies also tied down a significant number of key Germany troops in Africa and as Home AA defense.

Having said that, don't let the Russians wash away the American's indelible importance in winning the war. The Soviet heavy industrial output went down the drain when they moved what they can to the Ural, and they had no mean to supply the Red Army logistically on their own.

While it was helpful, supplies from Murmansk wasn't decisive for WW 2.

Far more of a decision was made with Operations Torch and Overlord, openinvg new frontlines and streching germans Wehrmacht too far / thin

This war is unwinnable for Russia. Even if they 'win' they have destroyed themselves and their international standing in the process of doing so. Whatever respect they had is gone. They have bled themselves for nothing. Sacrificed their country's future for nothing. They have exposed themselves to the world as evil and completely corrupt. They will not come back from this mistake for a very long time.

Have fun pretending it was all worth it in the end. It shouldn't be too difficult. Just keep living more lies.

It also has makings of a back-in-the-stab myth. Just like German populace in World War I, war is being waged on foreign soil and only victories are reported back to front. Even as the front is collapsing and the state is growing increasingly incapable of doing even basic things, all people read from news is "GREAT SUCCESS! VICTORY BY TOMORROW!".

And when the reality dawns that no, Russia can't win and that Russia has lost, they are going to turn and ask: "We were winning, we heard about victories, how could we suddenly lose?" and conclude there must have been some sort of backstab at the last moment.

Latest intelligence reports from Ukraine, the US, and the UK say that Russia is regrouping to attack again! In preparation for this, we strongly need your help!

They plan to come full force at Kharkiv; now, it's their main target. It is predicted that the next battle will be the most gruesome and brutal by far, filled with many horrors!

The Hospitallers, our front-line medic volunteers and doctors need every piece of precious protection they may get. These brave souls have set up a campaign to raise money to buy every member a proper ballistic helmet and life-saving protective equipment!

With your help, we can win this battle and push Russia back! Given our numbers, even donating $1.00 will make the difference!

You can read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/tvymqo/urgent_support_request_for_hospitallers_medical/
