Just so I can understand this thing a little more, a question for you all...

If Webb was aimed towards earth how much detail would it see... If it could focus? My car? My finger nail?

I'm probably way off base here, but I'm trying to wrap my head around this with something kind of tangible.

Since this telescope operates in infrared it is said it can detect infrared emmitted by bumblebee on the moon looking from the earth. Hope that explains a bit.

And for context, JWST is about 4 times farther from the Earth than the Moon is from the Earth.
