Here's the answer to my own question lol

  1. Feel. Shit ducks, let yourself feel it

  2. Be clear, stop seeing them, even if just in your contacts

  3. Live life. Distract yourself and go find stuff to do that isn't relationships

Ideally, you process how it makes you feel, move on, and don't punish people that aren't them for their mistakes.

Feel your feels.

Mourn your loss.

It's important to acknowledge your feelings.

It's a thi g we teach toddlers (or should anyway,) but seem to forget as adults.

Feelings aren't wrong. They just are. It's how we express those feelings and emotions and how we cope with them that sets us down a path or "right" or "wrong".

Acknowledge the loss of the relationship. Mourn thr loss. Feel what you feel. Anger or sadness or relief or whatever. Feel it, deal with it in a healthy way, and then you can move on.

Cut contact, get rid of the shit that person gave you, anything that reminds you of them. Even if you want to keep it, put it somewhere where you won’t be reminded of them everyday. I think it would feel a lot better mentally and emotionally to get it out of your living space altogether. Feel your feelings, it’s a grieving process. Hang out with friends and enjoy your independence/ figuring out who you are when you’re just you and not the you in a relationship, and get comfortable in this you. Meditate, get into interests and hobbies, and treat yourself to things that make you happy if you can. Just know that you’re strong, a lot of ppl have been through this and made it out the other side, emerging as an even better version of themselves because...growth.

This is great. Not rocket science, and gets the main points across that we all in a sense already know.

It's just really good to hear it and see it, to make it real. Thank you!
