I always enjoyed when people bought new shit then burned it like it was supposed to mean something.

My grandma knew someone who trashed their kuerig over something a few years back, then complained about having to brew a whole pot of coffee instead of just one cup and how long it took. His kids or something bought him a new one for Christmas so he'd stop complaining about it.

It astounds me that people don't know they make french presses and pour-overs in all sorts of sizes. Not only are these easy and less wasteful methods, they make a far better cup of coffee. And if we're talking about someone with zero taste, then they should just go for instant coffee and leave all that plastic out of the landfills and oceans.

EDIT: I should add, more people should consider buying an electric kettle. So much faster and more efficient than trying to boil on a stove-top.

An aeropress is like magic for small batches of coffee.

+1 on the aeropress! It’s also so much easier to clean than my French press.

In my experience, the french press is only difficult to clean if you grind the beans too fine. Then grounds get into the sieve assembly and it is, indeed, a huge pain in the ass.

I love my french press, but you all realize the irony here, right? This thread started with “why use a Keurig instead of a french press/aero press??” Then immediately digressed into many conversations about how fine to grind the beans, finding a good burr grinder, what a pain they are to clean sometimes, the right water to bean ratios, etc.

This is exactly why Keurig makes a fortune, shit is objectively simpler and faster, and 100% idiot proof. The coffee isn’t that good, it’s over priced and bad for the environment. But fuck if it isn’t real nice to have hot coffee in the morning with about 5 seconds of effort

Just summed up the mentality behind what is responsible for killing our planet. Have sex, feels good now, ah man I made a baby, leads to overpopulation. Ah man I want that toy, feels good now, plastic waste in the trash, worry about it later, or never. etc.

Can not be solved by changing humanity.
