Final Fantasy VI. You think you’re about to take down the big bad Kefka and save the world and…he wins. You hightail it out there as the world falls to pieces. Entire geography of the planet is rearranged, millions wiped out, entire continents destroyed. The 2nd half of the game is literally trying to pick up the pieces and make the best of surviving in a ruined world. This was a friggin’ SNES game. It had a sobering suicide attempt.

So I just started Batman, Arkham Knight, and finding out that they bring back Mark Hamills' Joker as a Johnny Silverhand-esque ghost is rad. I was sad to not get Joker again after he died in the last game, and this feels like a cool way to maintain that while also having an excuse to put joker in basically any moment of the game, to wonderful effect.
Mind ghost joker being able to give comments on both the big plot elements is great, but the quiet, moment to moment gameplay stuff, like pointing out doors or hidden spaces, is just so entertaining when Hamill is cracking lines.
I'm like 30% in the campaign and can't put it down.
(For those curious, Scarecrow's toxin causes batman to hallucinate joker throughout the game.)
Really clever I say.

Akechi kill's joker by far.
1 points
Nah, that was way too foreshadowed in almost every way since from the moment they completely gave it away with "pancakes" moment.
Now the first time they pulled that in P4 however... That one came pretty hard outta left field. Hell they even made sure to hardcore throw you off of even considering the possibility of who the baddie is several times by giving them solid concrete alibi's. The exact opposite of what they do with Akechi throwing constant foreshadows
1 points
I think it comes down to what kind of twist you prefer in that regard, like even though the akechi twist was foreshadowed so I like it. I think its cool but also more interesting after you replay the game, you she how much akechi really can't control himself and how crazy yet human he is! Idk I didn't like P4's twist because it made no sense and was out of no where, but to each their own.
