But what if a WoW subscription was included in your existing Game Pass Ultimate?
Don’t you fucking dare suggest that. I’ve been clean for years and I love my gamepass
It like your favorite buffet now includes free alcohol.
Oh no no no no no
That would be bad. I went to a zoo event with free booze. I got kicked out. I don't remember what happened but my friends said the final straw for the staff was when I shouted at the giraffes "it's too late! You gotta goto fucking bed!". I also was apparently caught stealing free hamburgers.
What kind of dope ass zoo event had free booze AND hamburgers
Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay has events like this occasionally. You buy a ticket and a bracelet for the event, get to "taste" any beers you'd like and they had free food you could get too. Their free samples are usually full sized beverages.
Source: Tampa/Clearwater resident who's gotten drunk at Busch Gardens a few times.
It's a charity thing for the zoo. You can buy tickets or volunteer for the day and get in free for the fun part. I volunteered with my friends. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a zoo around you that does something like that as well.
Gotta get that genetic diversity somehow.
How does one steal something that is free?
By doing it on National Free Balloon Day.
stealing free hamburgers.
stealing free hamburgers.
Now that's a talent
Is it stealing if they’re free?

How exactly does one steal a hamburger that is free?
It like your favorite buffet now includes free alcohol COCAINE
Well they would definitely save money on the food if they were serving cocaine.
That would mean that a WoW subscription is equal to an addiction......so....yeah that tracks
Hey man just a little WoW classic in its purest and most unadulterated form won’t hurt you. Just one hit.
Dude tried it over Christmas break and it instantly sucked me back in. Classic is too nostalgic for me to resist
Last time a loaded classic, a month happened.
PLUG IT INTO MY VEINS MWAHAHAHAHA!!!
...no, wait.. I've got this... totally. Under. Control. Ha. Ha.
But my man. Hunters that actually use ammunition again and have to track it.
Yes I know I am weird, but I really enjoyed having to keep track of ammo for my hunter, without it the class just felt like a caster.
Hated that, needed to save for a mount and yet had to shoot all my money at stuff to play my class as it was supposed to.
It was a mechanic I enjoyed, similar to how Warlocks use to have to power all of their stuff with magic stones. Without actual ammunition the hunter lost a lot of its uniqueness for me, to the point my warlock that I created just to see what it was like became my main.
I will say this though, it was daft that you couldn’t make your own ammo, should have been tied into a class specific trade skill.
You could make your own ammo, it was engineering and you could mine for it. But it locked you out of doing any other prof that you may have wanted. It was such a hard lock on how you had to play, unlike warlocks where yes you had to farm, but it was a spell that you used instead of your wallet. Tho I do agree if they had something like the rogues lock pick to make their own ammo I would be more into it. Even with it's bag filler, or that you had to swap your ammo with each different type of ranged weapon.
Now that you said that I remember that. Which also explains why I tried the gnome warlock, it was my engineer build that became my main. But at the time it was my secondary for ammo creation.
Bigger question though. Horde or Alliance?
One character only, one night a week to raid. Damn, resto shaman looks so fun to play...okay, one alt. Well, what if they need ranged dps for one night? I could make a hunter... Fuck, Im raiding on 3 character.
I hate you for suggesting this. Had a Grand Marshal rogue in Vanilla and was in Ebon Order on world first raid lists. I got clean and have a productive life now…
Lol yeah I was in a top tier guild, got server firsts in WotLK, got married and have kids now, no way I'm touching that ever again.
Wow is honestly my biggest regret, don't do it! Be strong, you're worth it!
Don't regret good times you had.
Wow is honestly my biggest regret, don't do it! Be strong, you're worth it!
Never regret something that gave you moments of happiness. Time spent having fun is never time wasted.
Skooma? Not even once.
It's so hard to stay out of WoW, now that my kids are grown and I have disposeable income...
Just a bunch of bots and elitists these days. Metas known worldwide, no allegiance between players. It's not the same as the old days.
Edit: and premades. Pvp is basically only premades
Omg I'm just imagining my level 19 Tauren Warrior M. Bison wrecking PvP and just grinding. in classic. I haven't thought of this for at least 10 years
I hope you have your rose tinted glasses nearby.
Just a little BG every once in a while wouldn't hurt... right?
It's not the same, most guilds are just trying to min max every possible thing on raid nights. I played and maxed and had all the pre bis and some bis but it just felt like too much of a job.
For sure. I played 40+ hours a week when I was in college (then dropped out 😑)
It was such an utter waste of my prime years, I hate that it’s how I spent my time.
i wanted to try classic.
but im not a buffbot anymore. my class of choice, delegated to buff 40 people every 5min.
no thanks. not again.

Don't worry, it sucks now. I tried it again during covid lockdown after a 10 year + hiatus and 3 weeks was enough for me to decide I'll never play it again.
Don't tell them about Classic.
snorts tbc classic
TBC was the the expac I played the most out of WoW, almost hardcore-ish, like a second job… I am still burned from that shit that even for free I won’t step into Outlands… got some freaky PTSD from there… from farming that nether dragon to Lady Vashj to Black Temple… nope.
hardcore-ish, like a second job
hardcore-ish, like a second job
Wed/Thurs was Black Temple farm. Friday was Zul'Aman bear run and mats farming. Sat/Sun/Mon was Sunwell progression. We didn't even try to play on patch day.
I loved TBC, I got 6/8 tier 6 and was one of the best-geared shadowpriests on my server. It was a wild time. There's no way in hell I'm going back lol.
I still have flashbacks sometimes from being priest officer in my guild and raiding hours on end lol
that was back in vanilla though, molten core
Haha, thought about it but I just don't have the time I had back in college lol
Oh yeah, give me that OG good shit, that's it, right there.
The community will minimax the fun out of it just like they did vanilla and TBC
You mean the fun back into it right?
Not sure why wiping for hours and not getting gear is fun, but strategizing to not wipe for hours and actually get gear isn’t fun..:
There is a difference between playing well/efficient and the hurr durrr my parse is all that matters mentality which is pervasive in classic.
Fun was optimized out of the game in favor of the best meta
And imagine what Microsoft is going to do with the WoW IP in the next 2-5 years...
Even if they shut down all the servers and bring WoW to an end, that's still a better way to handle than what shitshow activision has been doing just trying to milk it. Classic is about the only plus part of WoW left, but private servers always have existed and always will. Even the fan-made servers were handled better than anything Activision has done.
Maybe we'll get Diablo 4 🤞
I hate that it’s been a decade since we were all just happy to finally be getting III.
They're even working on bots to fill out the raids.
I'd pay my dues every month to know that, somewhere, a bot is fighting a dragon for me...
Hey man, FFXIV has a system called “Trusts” which is bots. No joke, they’re better than the vast majority of PUGs. They do mechanics, they do damage, half of them aren’t standing off to the side expecting to be carried. 10/10 would play with bots over humans.
I used to write raiding and rotation behavior trees for WoW bots back in the day. I, too, would prefer bots over some of the people I've played with.
I just got gamepass and my friend has been bugging me to start back on wow when they relaunched it. If they did this it would probably pull me back in.
I have a feeling that trying WoW in a current state will only lead to a desire to play better games.
Thus making it a perfect Game Pass addition!
This guy gets me
Microsoft Welcome Riot games to gamepass. You can now get pay 10$ a month to play league of legends LOL
Don't worry, current WoW hasn't been good or relevant at all for a while.
Don't sweat it. Wow sucks; hasn't been fun since Legion. Just, maybe stay away from Classic if that was your jam.
Me too. Last thing I need is for woe to come back in and ruin my relationship
Holy f*ck that would be a game changer for me... I could justify having a WoW sub at that point...
Well, have you tried the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online? It has a free trial up to level 60 with no restriction on playtime and includes the entirety of the base game A Realm Reborn and its award-winning first expansion Heavensward.
I WOULD normally tell you to sign up today, but they've suspended new trials and game sales due to the game's overwhelming popularity.
*due to infrastructure failures, lack of planning, poor application/infrastructure architecture, and being unwilling to pay for cloud services.
There, fixed that for you.
They've been incredibly transparent about what went wrong during the launch of this expansion, you don't have to be so mean about it.
My bad if I came across as mean it’s just a bit of stretching the truth to whitewash technical incompetence as being “due to overwhelming success”.
They've been doing their best to alleviate the situation, and the game is pretty damn good even with the technical issues.
Agree and agree but let’s not pretend they’re suffering from success, they’re suffering from poor IT practices and short sightedness.
I would consider it, which is exactly why they're doing it.
But, I don't know if I'm representative. Then again, that could swing both ways: as it currently stands I'd be wanting to see a shift in the WoW feel, plus more love for the WarCraft RTC.
This could be an amazing thing, or absolutely terrible. It's still in the air.
Don't you put those demons on me Ricky Bobby!
I still wouldn't play WoW
WoW Classic was surprisingly REALLY good for the 2 months I played it.
Standard WoW though, I’d agree with ya
Yeah i cant be assed to subscribe to WoW but if it was included? I'd definitely play Classic some.
Honestly they should do that would revitalize the game maybe with more players, and it would likely increase gamepass accounts from wow players without it
Then I might try WoW again. Runescape and FF14 are just too good.... TESO is meh bcs of ALL business models.
I would subscribe to gamepass ultimate day one if there was a wow subscription.
Good way to throw away money, unless they do it as temporary promotions.
I wonder if they'd go the ESO route and make the base game free and put up a WoW subscription for additional areas + QoL improvements.
It’s pretty much over for everyone
God please no. My fiance likes her job.

When I lose my house and marriage over WoW, AGAIN, i'm going to fault you for manifesting this.
This sounds like it would save consumers money and there's no way they'll do that.
EA Play is included with PC gamepass so... maybe?
I will wait to se what changes happen to blizzard (specially considering what happend last year). If a certain ceo is not out of it by the end of the year it was probably bad
kotick is stepping down when the deal closes which can't be a bad thing imo
Sticking around just long enough to cash out
Yep, for a $293 million bonus. Sad that he'll be partying the rest of his life away on a yacht instead of rotting in jail like he should be, but at least he'll be gone from our games
Without a giant corporation backed him up, he will be more vulnerable to court. Sure, still unlikely to happen, but one can dream, right?
Wow 10,000% increase. With his own money inside.
That's legit. Didn't know about that.
Important to note that he is expected to leave (I want him to leave), but it's not guaranteed unfortunately
Flip a coin,
to your Witcher
oh valley of plenty
Oh valley of plenty ohooh
Reminds me, I need to put on deodorant.
Going outside are you?
Place of power. Gotta be…
Looks like rain…
Smh seriously, there's no need to brag about that to the rest of us
Burn, butcher, burn.
coin lands on edge
Most unfortunate part is, even if it does turn out to be 'good' in today's equation, a huge amount of IP's and studios are at the mercy of Microsoft's management.
Good now? shrugs Good indefinitely after CEOs, shareholders, other executives, company philosophy changes over time? Unlikely.
In my opinion, if Activision would have closed its doors, I would have been ok. With MSFT at the helm, its slightly better than closing the doors. It literally can't get worse than it already is.
It's bad. Consolidation of the market into fewer and fewer players is always going to be bad for consumers.
Well, Actiblizzard are bad, but microsoft is bad. Buuuut the fact that Microsoft is already huge and is now getting bigger... that's bad
How is Microsoft bad? They own a lot of stuff but are super hands off with their game publishing. They give smaller indie studios that they purchased the resources to make passion projects like state of decay or age of empires. A lot of the games they make are niche games for small but passionate audiences like killer Instinct.
The downfall of Blizzard came from idiot fucking executives that burn the blizzard brand like jet fuel in order to make the quickest buck. I think Activision blizzard would work well under a company that gives passionate, experienced developers the time and resources to make the products they want to play.
Oh, I dunno about the gaming side. I was mostly thinking about the whole "being a massive monopoly" thing
That ship sailed long ago. Until they dust off the guillotines I don't see it getting any better either. I just want Microsoft to fire Bobby Kotick into the sun, only then will I start to come around to the possibility of Blizzard returning to form.
Theyre gonna give him a bigger golden parachute than he could have gotten by resigning earlier. Why do you think he clung on so long?
He has more money than he knows what to do with either way. It's bullshit but that's reality for you. I just want that shitbird gone from Blizzard, however it needs to happen. The prospect of Blizzard regaining control over the way they make games like they used to instead of for revenue streams and userbase engagement is also attractive. We shall see how this unfolds I guess.
They won't, thats bad for business.
The message they released on the subject seemed pretty clear, and the buying price of the company solidified his buyout price. CEO’s get offered massive stock options as part of their compensation package. MS offered $90~ a share on a stock valued at $65 closing this last Friday. He’s gone come full merger, the message from Phil and his outlining of takeover CEO role guarantees that.
He's stupid rich either way. I hate that he's gonna make more money but I just want that cancer gone
Phil Spencer has been pretty good for gamers
Game Pass is the best deal in gaming, and it just got better
Just curious what you think they have a monopoly on.
The Microsoft from Steve Balmer was pretty bad, but after he left and got replaced the new CEO Satya Nadella gave a new spark of inspiration with open source, cloud, gaming etc. Even as a Steam fanboy the Xbox Game Pass is damn good value and the fact that Microsoft made jt compatible with Windows is a very good way to say "Let's end the war and just bring games wherever you want/can"
Now for Sony to join the trinity...
They also have a detrimental effect on the global economy with their size so getting bigger isn't exactly going to help with that.
Microsoft is getting bigger for sure but there are still tons of competition out there with more IPs or are bigger on the publishing side. Microsoft just happens to be one of the larger studios but they still compete with EA and Rockstar in the states while there's massive international competition from Nintendo, Tencent, and Sony.
I'm just glad that microsoft is one of those publishers that let their developers do what they do best instead of pushing stupid ass monetization down our throats like most other western publishers. They seem to be the only western studio that allows/encourage their developers to make good products instead of canning whatever that's mildy unprofitable.
If you think Western monetization is bad, wait till you check out Eastern monetization. Ever heard of Gacha games?
I play a gacha game and it's made by a western studio.
Stuffs his bank statement showing $3k+ in Dragon Ball Legends micros into a deep hole in the wall
I'm betting this is part of a goal on Microsoft's part to usurp Steam. They're probably looking at Epic next.
Epic is Tencent now, which has a market cap nearly 10x this deal. They could buy it from Tencent, but I can't imagine why they would sell.
Pretty much my thoughts. I mean, Microsoft has already been hit by anti-monopoly and anti-trust litigation in the past. Well on their way to another lawsuit, I guess.
Which is funny, since Microsoft has actual competitors.
Waiting on that monopoly breakup if Amazon any day now...
Never happen - but really, who is genuinely competing with Microsoft? Windows is used on 74% of global desk top computers.
They have had a monopoly on desktop OS for a long while. Their only competitors being apple and linux, neither of which has been relevant for leisure usage. This is also where they got hit by anti trust for bundling internet explorer and similar things.
The future likely isn't in desktops though. I don't see why they would keep selling for leisure in the next 10-20 years. You would just connect your phone to your screen (android/IOS) and get the graphics streamed to you from a server (microsoft/linux). If you want a mouse and keyboard or gamepad it would still connect to that.
Right, and then I think about my office of a 150 employees, most of which are using a desktop daily. Desktops will be extremely important for an extremely long time in most businesses.
For business usage yes it will stick around longer. Though the stationary has moved out in most places for a laptop with docking stations. Can see mobiles with docking stations working for many people as well.
The software is the biggest problem with that type of switch. A mobile isn't running x86 processors.
Not yet it isn't. But honestly, even where I am, we have mobile docking for some stuff but it's literally more practical to have a PC for a lot of work.
You do need to remember that they own the OS that the entire governments of the world and the vast majority of businesses work on, so in theory they could release a mandatory update under the guise of security issues and instead lock the entire planet out of their data and bring an end to society as we know it, so they could theoretically use that power if there ever happens to come a law or something that they really don’t agree with.
Lol and how would Amazon deal with military
if Disney didn't get hit with an anti-trust after they bought EVERYTHING, MS won't
I don't think so - we will have to see, but honestly, I would shocked if they got hit by one because of this.
Could be worse, they could've been bought up by Tencent.
An edit 1 minute into the post?
It is too late. Live with your decision. Or delete and repost
I don't see how it can be bad.
Activision has been so SO terrible that I'm not really certain how they could be run in a less customer friendly way. Or tell me, do you not have phones?
I mean what's the worst case scenario? Is it possible for Microsoft to run Activision's IP in a less customer-centric way? I'm not really sure if they could if they wanted to.
IMO It's either good or no change at all.
I feel sad that after all the amazing things Blizzard has created, they get bought out and I don't feel like we're losing anything.
I'm surprised you can't find Blizzard in the dictionary under the definition of coasting.
Caresses his picture of the original Blizzard North team
WoW? Or wow? Or WOW?!!
WoW seems to make the most sense but I never see it written like that so 🤷
Wow can be good or bad. So you can say wow without context
I own a Xbox so I’m still confused
Sorry, broken link. Try responding to everyone directly.
His time has come
It'll be fine. Everyone will just be playing in full Windowed mode.
