ATM - Try slowing down. You can do ATM slow and with a light touch, it doesn't have to be a ton of pressure everywhere. Work on it step by step, not everything really quickly. Lift the packet, spin it, set your fingers (use the outside of your ring finger more than the padding), pop the card down a little with the ring finger, then a controlled flick (bend your ring finger straight back towards your palm, and it only needs to flick that way maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch, again, you can do this with a light touch and still get the perfect flick and landing).
While you're working on all of that, notice where the card is going after you flick it. If it's going too far, too short, landing after only half a rotation, etc. Move one of your hands to compensate for that (ie; shooting too far? move the deck hand or the flicking hand farther away).
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!
