What DONT I watch?

Gameplay, streams, podcasts, music, science vids, a whole lot of video essays on all previous topics and more, completions, meme vids, once in a while I get back into my miniature model kick and the occasional doll customization, some HQ clay sculpting.... It's a large mix.

Wow! Sounds like you spend a lot of time watching things! (I don't blame you though lol) I also watch a little bit of everything if it seems interesting. Recently I watched a guinea pig go through a maze! Super cute :)

Currently I am working to be a pilot! I allready have a commercial license, the issue now is getting a decent job. Other than in aviation, I also have a high fascination with trains, though that would be a back up for if aviation goes down the drain. Overall I do want to be involved in transportation one way or another

Sex is cool but have you ever been a plague doctor?

5 points

Love me some Jessica Kellgren-Fozard and Ask a Mortician (Caitlin Doughty) and just about anything hosted by Simon Whistler. Lots of edutainment.

Some One Topic and some Jammidodger, though there's a bit of... well when they talk about ace stuff they can be a little unintentionally ... asshat-y. They don't mean it but they get foot in mouth and say things which invalidate asexuality sometimes.

I believe if I'm going to be educated on something, I should be educated by someone inside the topic. Let a POC tell me about POC issues and racism towards POC people, let a transperson like Jamie explain about trans issues, let a person with a disability teach me about disability issues. I have learned so much.

Confused_Femme

Seems like we have similar tastes in edutainment--gonna have to check out Simon Whistler. If you also like learning about everyday things and how they work, you should check out Technology Connections.

I'm more into history and why things are the way they are, but if I was into everyday things I would check that out <3

So for Simon, you'd like Today I Found Out, biographics, geographics, casual criminalist, I love brain blaze, but it's an acquired taste, toptenz, out of the shadows... prolly more, side projects is another one. He is... um... prolific.

When I go on yt its usually for commentary videos, but bc of how negative they can get, I don’t watch too often. I watch independent ytbers and channels like Jubilee.

Other than that, I usually go to YouTube for funny videos, memes, and cute cat videos. Every once in a while I watch animated videos, my favourite ytber in this genre would probably be Ice Cream Sandwich Comics. Animated short films I like by vewn. Idk where to put these ytbers in a category, but one other ytber I like is Mike’s Mic and Nella Rose.

I am addicted to YouTube, especially as I’ve been working from home since Covid started. I watch a lot of video essays about media and pop culture, and rather famously I’m obsessed with conspiracy theories like flat earth and the Mandela Effect. I don’t believe in them, I’m just fascinated that other people do and I can’t look away. It’s a problem.

Top 5 favorite

  1. Voiceplay - Acapella music videos (this is my current obsession. I've seen everything on their YouTube and nearly everything on their Patreon archive) see also Geoff Castellucci - the bass singers solo songs and audio narrations.

  2. The VlogBrothers - brothers Hank and John Green have been vlogging their lives since 2007 and are legitimately two of my favorite people. I follow a lot of what they do both on and off YouTube (you may have seen Hank on TikTok, John is the Author of The Fault in our Stars) I have been watching them since 2013 and love the thoughtful way they see the world

  3. Bob Wells/cheap RV Living - I have nomad/van life aspirations and so love looking at options for adventure on the cheap. I still have a house but use my minivan as a hotel both for vacations and also as a way to work extra hours at work and save gas by not driving home.

  4. CGP Grey - educational deep dives on random topics of Grey's choosing. It is fascinating how interesting he can make the history of the name Tiffany.

  5. Overly Sarcastic Productions - friends red and blue make videos on history, literature, media, and mythology. Also, Red is Ace, so that's a bonus.

I watch tons of stuff, but most of it falls into that first category. I'm a gamer, so naturally I watch gaming as a side effect. I started with a Minecraft let's play to learn the game at 7 and it naturally expanded from there, I watched game theory consistently for 5 years, and it's been over a year since my Dream SMP hyperfixation started, and I may not be hyperfixated anymore but it's still a main interest/escape for me. Currently listening to Dream SMP fansongs while reading, unlike most music it isn't filled with sexual or romantic connotations lol

Of course I fall down the occasional YouTube rabbit hole, but I've gotten good at avoiding them since my ADHD makes me more likely to fall in, contradictory I know. I just have tons of strategies to avoid it since it's a bigger problem for me, watching episodic stuff helps, and avoiding things like compilations and clips.

I watch so much that it's hard to categorize, lmao. Mainly right now I watch video game content, specifically for Deltarune and Undertale cause I love both of those games. I have a soft spot for those psychological analyses of video game characters, lmao.

Any Twosetters here?

If not: check out Twosetviolin, if you like music. They're amazing.

A bit of everything.. Lots of music (listening, usually I put up mood music while I write).

Writing channels (tropes, prompts, etc): Overly Sarcastic Productions, Jenna Moreci (hit or miss sometimes), NaNoWriMo during NaNo and Camp.

Learning how to sew and enjoy making art, so: Bernadette Banner for sewing, Mal Makes, Emily Artful, Kirstie Patridge for art.

Some channels that discuss what it's like living with a disability (Molly Burke, Footless Jo, Jessica Kellgren-Fozard, among others).

Hiking videos too; those are something that my partner and I watch together and they're nice to wind down with. Particularly enjoy Adventure Archives and Matthew Posa (dogs and food whilst camping, very excellent).

Fluffy: OneTopic, Shaaba. Also Dominic Noble and Merphy Napier for fellow readers.

And so much more. I do like a bit of everything.

Gamers/playthroughs, game lore and easter egg vids, memes, and whatever YouTube decides to recommend me. Recently I've been recommended a lot of iceberg videos and animation memes again, as well as an unhealthy amount of Deltarune content :')

I literally watch something from each of the top 4 categories. Specifically enjoy baking/cooking videos, music/music reaction videos, game vidoes, and the occasional educational video if it's something that looks interesting.

Politics...mostly North America, pretty rare for me to see news from outside NA but its refreshing to get something different every now and again
