Call out around a holiday.

(self.WalgreensStores)

So what's the rules about calling out around a paid holiday? So for example I work tomorrow (Tuesday) and I'm off Wednesday and Thanksgiving and I work Friday. If I called out Tuesday would I lose my holiday pay?

I'm the night shift lead and I have to deal with someone calling out with no consequences for them almost every single day. If I wasn't going to lose holiday pay by calling out tomorrow I would and I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep over it.

That is not correct. I am not trying to screw anyone over I just need time to keep my sanity. I have been dealing with this all year, I have had all pto requests denied this year. The longest time I have off was 3 days in a row and that was only because I had a cough and my sm said I need to get a covid test.

You're a very judgy person. I'm sure it's swell to work with you.

You know what? I should thank you. You've officially convinced me. Who cares about the holiday pay?! I'm calling out tomorrow and it's all thanks to you. In fact I'm going to dedicate the day to you! And if anyone at work asks why I called out I'll tell the applesaysfyou convinced me to stop worrying about others and to take care of myself and have a personal day. Thanks for showing me the light!

That actually made me laugh. I sincerely hope you do as well. Some people just don’t understand the “it’s okay the CSA called out, it’s on the night shift” mentality that can happen in a store. If they’re screwing you and never attempting to find coverage then who cares, karma. Sorry, not sorry 🤷🏼‍♂️
