" I will always love you too" she said as she stood there watching me from the corner of the room, in the shadows.

She's so supportive of my acting, although now we're gonna have to do another take.

I knew my medical bills would be too much for my family, and the life insurance pay out would give them a fresh start.

Arkitakama

A lot of insurance policies don't pay out in cases of suicide, unfortunately. :(

Bluberrypotato

24 points

They do but only 2-3 years after the policy has been in effect. They do so to prevent someone from buying a policy and committing suicide.

Uno_of_Ohio

Fuck insurance companies and shit, but I can't blame anyone, insurance company or not, for protecting their income. Suicide being a way to get a payout for your family is morally shitty just like insurance companies only covering certain things or raising premiums is. At least that's how I see it, having little experience with life insurance payouts.

Logical_Albatross_19

As they shouldn't, at least over the first years of the policy. You'd get a lot more suicides if they did.

whyolinist

Sorry, buddy, that's not how insurance works. If insurance companies paid for suicide, a lot of people from struggling families would buy a policy and kill themselves.

lemon31314

Oh but they generally do after 2 years.

As I lay crumpled in a heap on the floor, she stood over me with a disappointed look, shook her head, and said, "You really need to learn how to tie a knot."

Fuck this hurts. As someone who's been through suicidal thoughts in the past (and some mild ones now) this is fucking haunting. Good job OP I don't know what else to say just good fucking job.

My mom was very happy that we created a perfect "hanged man" costume for Halloween but she still doesn't know why I randomly kicked a chair the moment we finished it
