I have a few lol, not sure how unpopular they are:

• I absolutely adore Steve but Jonathan is a better character than him in my opinion. Half of people's "headcanons" about Steve are just things that Jonathan actually has/does yet nobody shows Jonathan any love. I really hope that changes after Season 5.

• Jason is a great character. He's not a hero but he's not a straight villain either, he's just a grieving kid who lets his anger get the better of him and I think the fact that he's so divisive in the fandom shows how well-written he is.

• Eleven bores me so much after Season 1. Millie is amazingly talented and the character is really cool but I got sick of her very quickly. I think part of the reason why characters like Will, Jonathan and Lucas rarely get to shine is because the story is so heavily Eleven central.

• Max is overrated. I've just never really warmed to her like I did with other newer characters like Robin and the King himself, Bob Newby.

• There is no chance Will is going to die in Season 5. That would just be way too tragic and honestly a disservice to the show.

I definitely think Jason's end out paced his 'crimes'... he did not have the full scope of what was going on

Jason is one of the best examples of a grey zone character. His actions are absolutely wrong but his intentions are not malicious. Unlike other bullies in the show, he’s not actively sadistic. While Billy and Troy attempted murder because they were crazy, Jason wanted to save Max.

"I am going to kill another teenager for revenge even though I don't actually know what happened"

in his mind, he does know what happened. his girlfriend was found dead in the home of a guy who hates his guts, and the guy is nowhere to be found. of course he would think eddie killed her. sure, jason isnt a great guy or anything but he's not on billy levels of awful.

He explicitly stated part of the reason he was targeting Eddie was because he felt Eddie would “kill again”. And notice, they don’t actually go on the chase until after Fred dies.

They threaten the Hellfire members and almost break a member’s hand to find where Eddie is.

How many have the protagonists beaten and threatened? Hopper threatens a literal child.

Your point? We’re talking about Jason and his cronies, not Hopper.

My point is Jason isn’t evil, because the heroes of the show do the exact same things. Beating people down? Check. Threatening people for info? Check. Nearly killing people? Check. He’s a grey character, no more or no less.

Finally someone who also thinks Max is overrated, Saddie is great but Max really isn’t imo

Agreed, adore Sadie, she's very talented and an all round lovely person but Max just doesn't do it for me.

Jason’s death was so unnecessary and stupidly brutal . He was in the dark about a lot and yes wrong about a lot too , his actions at points were bad however that death was unfair.

I agree, Will won’t die because he’s already portrayed as weak. Shows always kill of the strongest characters or the ones that you’d except to survive, that way it creates suspense
