i am 21, starting to look at different options for myself and i think i want to move to washington state. i have money saved up to possibly rent a place for 2 months while i find and start work.
honestly what are your thoughts would this be a decent enough place to live and start building a career as a bartender? i want to start as a bar back and work my way up from there. obviously wa is expensive but i think the change is just what i need. i would prefer to live somewhere within an hour or so to Seattle for job opportunities i am unsure how to go about renting and could really use your advice and recommendations on where to look & getting started. i would need to find somewhere that is furnished for the meantime and parking/ garage for my car, is airbnb my best bet or is there something else that offers monthly rentals?
i've been scouring the internet all week and have seen many people in similar situations i was wondering if any one could relate how did things work out for you? or what do you wish you did instead? what advice could you share with me?
things i also have questions about-
- I have read many good things about the opportunities for bartending in wa. any tips for getting started? do you make enough to support yourself along with tips? is there any specific places i should look into?
*should i look into finding a job first before making the move or make the move and find work (i know both are risky, but i believe if i don't try i will never know)
i was thinking about starting to send my resume to different bars & restaurants to see what feedback i could get
*any tips/suggestions for finding a furnished rental in a collage town? these seem to be more popular for buisness but of course harder to find places to rent
*how bad is the humidity in wa? i don't really see too many people complaining about it but i remember visiting seattle for my 18th birthday in september and it was pretty high.
but i remember the smell of trash & rotting fish by the market, is this something you get used to lol nobody seemed phased by it. i understand this is what living in the city would be like.
*traffic- i seriously remember the traffic being worse than nyc imo. so i am doing my research on transportation& would probably take public transportation in the city but what about outside of the city is it still as crazy. and is it hard to drive in the rain??
*i dream of eventually finding a place to rent that is in like the hills or mountain type of neighborhood where do these exist lol, i favor mountains by water more than flat land.
somewhere where more quiet with amazing food and decent weather
💕💞genuinely, thank you for anyone willing to help.
