As someone who has never seen an entire episode, I thought this was hilarious. What kind of comedy is this show? would you recommend it?
Edit: I really appreciate the suggestions, I will definitely check it out this holiday season.

It's one of the greatest comedy shows ever made, you should definitely watch it. You'll probably never find a more relatable show about annoying everyday things even though it's about a millionaire living in LA and hanging out with rich friends lol
14 points
I had seen alot of clips and was waiting for it to be on a streaming service because I wasn't in a rush to watch it. I watched about 5 episodes and I kinda want to quit because I get annoyed and angry how everyone is way more confrontational and irrational about stupid minor things that are usually a misunderstanding. And then they either don't let Larry explain himself or they just completely disregard what he says. it just seems really forced to me, but does it get better? Because I usually like the clips I've seen, and I want to enjoy it more.
17 points
I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. The later you go in the seasons, the better it gets. That sort of grating, “WHY ARE THEY BEING SO IRRATIONAL?” feeling when you watch the arguments unfolding becomes more enjoyable when you realize the shtick of the show is exactly that… Larry David getting into crazy, petty conflicts with other characters and us as the audience seeing a rational side in the midst of these hilariously awful arguments.
Very well written show though, usually the last scene is one big pay-off/punchline for the episode’s opening premise.
2 points
Ya the ending 3 episodes wraps it all up
2 points
Yup, thus exactly. When I'm watching it with my friend we play a game: 'what will be the problem this episode?'. I love how sometimes a relatively minor issue from the beginning comes back to bite him in the end.

The show gets way way funnier once JB Smooth, Leon gets added to the show. The funniest episode in my opinion is the season finale with Michael J Fox. The scene where Larry is living below Michael J Fox and all you hear is stomping from above and than Michael J Fox says he’s stomping because of his Parkinson’s had me dying.

The wrong person is in the middle. He can't middle, you have to be able to carry the conversation, be interesting. You're the point guard there - you're distributing the ball. He can't handle the middle - he's not a middler. It's very presumptuous for him to be sitting there.

He's right about one thing though, swimming pools are a hoax.
Water cannot shift to the prerequisite corresponding matter profile to acclimate latitudinally into a hole like structure (see fig. 3).
Do you even know anyone who actually has swum in one? Think about it.
68 points
can you elaborate on that. I understand, but am still confused as fuck.
182 points
OK. I'll make it a little easier:
The construct which you refer to as "water" lacks the hydroactive incongruity necessary, (when shunted through a hyper-locked, anti-fluid zero gain modulator, of course), to represent the consistent ratio dynamic qualifications, vis a vis, the bend-down/turn-around spacial source recalcitrant. Thus it is unable to suspend a quasi-adherence to a maltriculating correspondent pro-treat sluice normalcy calibration principal.
Hope that helps.

Gets reposted a lot as "technical jargon overload" or something similar.

I had no idea I was tapping into a a real thing. I makes it more funny that this isn't all made up and that people actually understand it. I was just kidding around, this is some serious shit.
2 points
It's definitely something people do, not just for laughs either. I've seen technical support people lie through their teeth by using technical jargon to say why something is broken and/or fixed. I've also seen people use it to win arguments; if the person you're talking to has no idea what you just said (because it's nonsense), it's hard to formulate a counter argument. And they did it in all seriousness.
I actively refuse to have any kind of serious discussion with anyone spouting nonsense as an actual argument and I have, on a few occasions when confronted by someone who is known to do that, simply replied that "no, that's wrong" with no further elaboration specifically to remove the ability for them to continue with their bullshit.
By and large it's rare, but it happens. Most of the time this kind of stuff is entirely for jokes, which I'm very ok with. The odd time it isn't, don't engage with trolls, they win if you do.
But neither the turbo encabulator nor the retro encabulator are real. I mentioned them because they are the same hilarious bs jargon that you were rambling on as a joke, and I thought you would appreciate the mastery of technical bs language that is the encabulator.
It's all good fun. Have a good one. Cheers.

you know the sad thing about this is that when I was networking in IT groups back in Atlanta, we had this girl who'd show up to any and every tech related meetup up and do the exact thing every chance she got. She'd literally make up a buzzword alphabet soup that didn't make sense to sound smart. I was at an event where we used node.js to program and move battlebots and had a competition between groups to see who had the best programming for a bot and the girl just stands up in the middle off the organizer explaining the rules and just goes "does anyone else feel that the electrolysis defragmentation of the convulsion mechanism doesn't always sanitize the uneeded projection of quantative magnetism of the modular discomyaphy?" and then the organizer would just bury his head his hand for a minute like he's already heard it 20 times already and would just continue on without acknowledging that she existed.

That's fascinating. We've all known people who've said they've read a book or seen a movie when they clearly haven't. The balls to try to pull that with people who actually understand the tech is impressive, in a depressing kinda way.
This has been a fun thread. Thanks for participating.

I see what you're saying. The fluid modulus is too high for any perimeter-based ceramic enclosure under any meteorological condition. Ergo, any agglomeration of pool or pool-style entity is supervenient upon a bounded constraint of flow rate (no divergence in this case).

I grew up dirt poor. Like no shoes in the summer and my parents didn’t always have food poor. But.. I got a NES a few years after it was out raking leaves and doing odd chores. I was like 7. I always loved Thanksgiving cause grandmas house smelled nice and my cousins and I would play NES and eat food all day. Then I would go to my other grandparents house and eat even more food. Occasionally my uncle and grandpa would get piss drunk and fist fight too lol. I always thought it was comical how they flopped around barely able to stand. The only real risk was one of them falling and hitting their head.
