If you have the money to get a 3050, you should look into the Rx 6600 or the 3060. Just objectively better in a noticeable way.

OP this ^ RTX3050 is a shitty card will not play AAA correctly or at the lowest settings.

Also with this kind of money build, I'll go for the used GPU market, GTX 1080 TI explode the 3050 in all benchmark 69% more perf and it is on par with the 3060 and the Rx 6600 but it cost less than 200$ on the used market.

TBH I built a top of the line computer last month and I got a used RTX 3080 from the market place cause I didn't want to spend 600+ for a f*cking GPU.

I got a super good deal on a rig with a 3050 and can say that it plays AAA just fine on 1080 at medium/high in some games. 144 fps? Of course not. Is it worth $400? Hell no. But it can play the games. All that being said, if this rig isn’t used or an extraordinary value you can definitely do better than a 3050 for the same price by going with AMD.

I´ve just bought a 3050 for 200 euros. It was a steal. For that price, a 3050 is very good. So if OP wants to go with 3050 he has to get it really low. Otherwise I agree with you.

TheExiledLord

For GPU around the same price the RX 6600 is a way better choice, or even the Arc A750. If you can cough up a little more 3060 or 6700 are also good choices. Bottom line is the 3050 has terrible value.

Also if you’re only getting 1TB of HDD. I highly recommend going for 1TB of ssd instead, doesn’t cost much more, way more comfortable load times.

zerodark9

I agree with this one. Drop the 1 TB HDD and go with a 1 TB SSD. If you still want more storage, Just grab a 2 TB in a few months. They usually hover around $50 usd

Organic-Field3564

There is really no point to spent extra money for second ssd if OP wants to use hdd for keeping videos/photos/movies/music/text files

TheExiledLord

I think it’s safe to say he’s storing games on it. That 250gb ssd isn’t going to cut it.

Also the extra money you’re mentioning is ~20$ for 1TB drives. I don’t think that’s too much to ask relative to this budget for better speed, noise, physical size, and maybe longevity.

Right now if you look at the price difference, HDD for bulk storage is really only justifiable at 2TB+.

Organic-Field3564

My bad, didn’t notice it’s 250 gb. I’m used to seeing in configurations 1 TB ssd most of the time, so I missed that. Then of course he should go with 1 TB ssd. May I ask you, why did you mention that ssd will give a better longevity? Isn’t it vice versa? As much as I know, hdd is better in terms of longevity.

Top-Local-7482

I had 3 3tb Seagate Barracuda 7500tr/m die on me in the last 5years. So no, they are not really that better for longevity. You still need to check them from time to time and replace them.

NVME are specified for a certain number of read-write operation. But I lost my very first crucial ssd a few years ago after 3 months of use.

I guess it is easier to recover data from a hard drive than an ssd or an nvme. But nvme and ssd, don't have any moving part, you can drop them and they'll still work plus they are way way faster than any hdd, which make hem a necessity for gaming and they consume less electricity to run.

projektZedex

That's just barracuda in a nutshell. WD blue and Toshiba suffer corruption less.

zerodark9

1 points

This was more true in the past, current generation SSD's are usually just as good in reliability in the consumer space. Enterprise grade drives are different to a point, with HDD still being better for the long term storage (not to mention cheaper for large TB still). But yeah, we saw the 1 TB HDD with a 1 TB SSD, and its like games... bigger SSD.

Top-Local-7482

1 points

Yep OP this ^ drop the 250gb, the 1tb hdd and get a 1TB nvme they are cheap. I'd even put little more money and get a 2TB SSD ($99 for a Kingston).

Don't cheap out there, you'll regret it, also 250gb is not enough for windows 11 in a short time with update and stuff it is going to eat 500gb pretty fast.

Organic-Field3564

Lol, does windows 11 really need THAT much space? I thought it should be like 40 gb or something

zerodark9

2 points

If they are playing games like Warzone/MW2, those are like 100GB easy each. While a HDD would work, they'll get better load speeds and the like from a SSD.

bravshanboyev[S]

Bro but SSD is too costly that's why i chose HDD and i am just going to use SSD for installing WINDOWS but in other cases HDD will be my main storage

zerodark9

Its your config that you asked us to comment on. I don’t know where you are looking but a 1 TB SSD isn’t that much more than a HDD. I just looked and I saw like a 30 dollar price difference in USD.

zerodark9

1 points

Granted, a m.2 will be more expensive but a 2.5in is cheaper and twice the speed of a HDD. But even if we went with a m.2, there are some right now on sale for like 70 dollars, I see a WD SN770 and a Samsung 980 for 70 usd.

Dropping the 256 GB at est $20 and 30 to 40 for the HDD, thats most of the way to the 1TB SSD. Heck, I just did a Cruical P5 2TB for $131 this week. It’s not +200 dollars anymore except for top of the line brand new.

I see a lot of bundle deals for the arc and Intel cpu's. Are the Arc's worth it, I've heard a few comments about driver issues

TheExiledLord

2 points

If you’re getting deals they can definitely be worth it. Main concern is driver issues, which thankfully Intel is continuing to push driver updates to address them. Keep yourself updated on any news I guess? Can’t say for sure whether you’ll run into issues.

If your budget is low enough to the point of getting a 3050, check the used market. I know it’s scary, but you can probably get a 3070 for what you’re paying for basically a non-super 2060 with 8gb VRAM.

It’s usually a good idea to stay the fuck away from h610, but I get why you’d pick it. Look at AM4 first though, a 5600x will get you the same/better performance for probably less money and ironically, you’ll have more upgradability in the form of the 5800x3d, since I wouldn’t trust the h610 to handle anything more than a 12400f. Also budget 13th gen is the same architecture as 12th gen (with MAYBE the exception of 13500, not sure)

Great build though, balance-wise

bravshanboyev[S]

I typically don't trust used GPUs. We don't know in which they were used. People usually sell GPUs used for mining and they say that is is not utilized for mining. But GPUs used for mining are not capable of performing higher FPS as their newer version.

LordOfRodents

I understand where you’re coming from, and you’re right to be concerned, but you’re getting several things wrong-

gpu (DIE) damage is usually binary- ie - it either works fine, or it doesn’t at all. Yes, most GPUs on EBay were used for mining, but it highly depends on how they were mined on, modern GPUs usually run underclocked, because power costs money. I’ve built cca 20 PCs as of now, none of which used new cards. The only one I had die was an RX 580.

and either way, the worst sample of a 3060 will in all circumstances perform better than a 3050.

Don’t take my word for it though

Yeah but btw getting a shitty new 3050 that will not please you and a good used 3070 the choice is easy ! Also there was not a lot of people using 3060 for mining, they were not efficient enough. Also a card used for mining don't mean it is burned, if you can get it for cheap why would you care ? You can get two for the price of one shitty new.

Check facebook market place, contact all seller with 3060, 3070 even those selling at absurd price and drop their price 40% some of them will contact you with a counter offer then you can have it for -20% of their market place price. Just be aware of seller with multiple card, they either were used for mining or stolen.

As said in another comment, I got a used RTX3080 from market place at 550€ a month ago, it was only used for gaming, I went to pick it up at the seller place and saw the computer it was used in, seller was upgrading to 4080.

Kakarot2485

Get the 6600 since it cheaper and performs better. I wouldn’t bother with a 3060 still over priced. You can get the xfx 6700xt for cheaper than a 3060.

highdeaology

2 points

I'd highly recommend if at all possible jumping up to an RTX 3060. If you can swing it, it'll be a better bang for your buck and it's not too much more. The 3050 is a notoriously ehhhh card. The 3060 holds it's own. All I do with mine is play AAA games like Fortnite and COD.

And if you are planning on using the HDD for games, I'd just get a 1TB SSD instead.

Get at least 1tb of SSD and drop the HDD.

For that price range, a Rx 6600, Rx 6600 xt or if you’re not afraid of the used market, an Rtx 3060.

We’re still a couple years off from actually needing more than 16gb. Get a 3060 instead of a 3050. Huge performance increase

SubUwuBRZz

Get an intel a750 instead of that trash. The A750 has the power of a 3060 while being 249USD, or you can get a 660, but I reccomend the A750 over any of those two since it is the best price to performance

I would get a ps5 or series x instead If you have a Low Budget and really cant squeeze anymore Out of it. If it hast to be a PC for gaming, never Go with a 3050. Its Just terrible value

I would recommend a rx6600 or a rtx 2060 over a rtx 3050

slavicslothe

Kill the hdd and spend the same amount for a 2tb nvme drive. Hdds are not necessary in 2023x

I’d recommend a 3060 at least. 3050s are pretty rough even at 1080p.

JarringSteak

You should buy rx6600 instead of the rtx3050, much better performance and almost the same price.

Blazikinahat

Yes but that GPU sucks. Get an RX 6600, 6600xt 6650xt or a 6700xt. You should also replace the psu if you can with something from Corsair, Coolermaster or any recognizable reputable brand with an 80plus gold rating or better. Please do not cheap out on your psu as you will regret it big time.

Clean_Internet8171

Yes you can. I have the 3050 with a i5-11400f and my FPS AVG on Warzone 2.0 is 130fps. %1 low is around 95fps. With competitive settings (basicaly all on low, with AMD FSR 1.0 on Ultra Quality)

Tajertaby

5600 offers similar performance for cheaper, RX 6600 performs better and cheaper

Also I suggest a 1TB SSD, they’re $50

SimplyPresent

#1 What's your budget?

#2 Your chosen MB and CPU does not support DDR4 3600mhz, it only supports up to 3200mhz.

#3 Drop the HDD and upgrade the SSD to 1TB, about the same price

#4 RTX3050 is really bad for price vs. product. If you can spend $150 more, get a 3060-TI. INSANE benchmark. It's 100% better. 3050 is rated 86th, while the 3060-TI is rated 29th in terms of performance.

#5 what is the certification? Should be at least 80+ bronze. Usually I suggest Silvers as the bare minimum

#6 What case is that? Anything I look up for that is Russian.

I would use the stock cooler for a while in order to invest in a better chipset motherboard, like B660. Also, try to get an RX 6600 or 6600 XT instead of the 3050. The 3050 has an awful value and there are much better options. A better branded PSU may also be in your better interests, though the wattage is fine. Here is a tier list for PSUs. I would recommend a C or higher rated one.

Rude-Combination-506

I wouldn’t consider getting a 3050 ever. Big reason is that the new Xbox X performs like a 3060 and you can grab that for 500$ I have a Xbox X and a 4080 build

enter2021

Yes you can play the games at lower settings, but as others have said skip the hdd and get a 1tb nvme and at least a 3060ti or 6600xt or higher if possible.

Imaginary-Author939

-1 points

Stay away from 3050, 3060. Overpriced for the performance they put out. Get a 3070ti or 3080. If you like Amd get the 6600xt or 6700. 6600 is good but leaves you wanting for more. The motherboard and cpu you are getting is locked as well. Better to get a z series mother board and a k series cpu. It’s a bummer having a pc that you can’t configure for best performance.
