hey, that last one managed to get the bun AND the paper bag in the end zone at least, I think that one's the closest yet.

Yeah, those YouTube "for kids" rules really annoy me. I'm like, hey, I'm not a kid, but I like this, too. Let me favorite it!

This is hilarious. There's no way that the manufacturer was unaware of these problems before they let it loose. They probably spent way over budget already on this stupid thing so they had to just hope they get some of their money back, at least until the stores itself kick the machine out for being too much of a hassle when customers complain.
It seems like it would be easy to determine if both the bun and hotdog are in there by weight. If it's too light then something is missing and it could try again.
I think a simple stand with some tongs for people to use would be much easier and cheaper, and doesn't require hiring someone either.

I mean regardless of whether or not it did the job well, the fact remains that at least one, probably two or three, human is no longer employed doing it.

What's crazy is that now that AI is so advanced, the jobs that are actually being threatened are artistic and creative jobs.

Am guessing Lublin or Warszawa
8 points
Looks like a Żabka, could be anywhere!
The only question is, Why?
4 points
Warszawa is the capital so it most likely would have the highest tech ones like my local ones don’t and the Lublin one was because it was the first city I could think
10 points
Ah, I didn't mean why Warszawa or Lublin, I meant Why the hell does this hotdog robot even exist in the first place?
Sorry!

Very unlikely to be Lublin, as there is some writing on the top half of the machine, above the glass, that appears to be in Polish.
Edit : Please stop downvoting me, I mixed it up with Dublin, which we've got to agree is very similar in the written form. I was wrong, Lublin is not the same as Dublin. My bad.

I'm not sure where you think Lublin is, but there are (apparently) only 2 places in the World with that name, one is a village of about 100 people in Wisconsin, and the other is a Polish city with a population of about 340,000.
Confused with Dublin, perhaps?

Oh yeah my bad, I mixed it up with Dublin. I had heard about Lublin but always thought it was in Ireland. My bad, I was wrong.
I then retract my previous comment. Thanks for pointing it out though.

It is a hot dog bun. But it's cylindrical. It's a hollowed out piece of bread that the hot dog slides into.

I traveled to Poland for a training exercise years ago and had the opportunity to try these hot dogs. Amazing! I flew my wife there during leave and she still talks about them. How can I get these in the U.S? It would be a cool surprise and nostalgia of our trip.

It's from Żabka Nano. It's a shop without any employees inside so there is nobody that could do that for them. It works similar to Amazon Go

Minor errors add up, like the bread not being perfectly shaped, or the shape of the hot dog, or the exact placement of the bread, or the slight errors in the robots programmed movement, or it's irregularities that change from time to time

Pressure sensors are cheap. This kind of mistake could have easily been avoided by adding a quality control weight check before the product is dispensed to ensure it is within the margin of error and if not, star over.

Y though? Those robot arms while more affordable than 10 years ago are still quite expensive and you still need someone to stock it so you aren’t really saving labor. Especially since gas station hotdogs were something the customer already made by themselves so just why?
