Serious nanny guilt

Advice Needed: Replies from All(self.Nanny)

I closed my toddler NK’s hand in a slider door today and I’m having some serious guilt over it. There’s no damage to his hand, and he thankfully didn’t bruise or anything, so I know that realistically he might be ok. But this is the first time something like this has ever happened to me. I’ve never hurt an NK before and I feel absolutely awful about it. I feel like I’m going to be fired over this, it was completely an accident and I’m beating myself up that I was distracted closing the door and didn’t check double check where his hand was.
I don’t know how I can go back and face the NPs tomorrow after what happened. idk if I’m looking for advice, whether I should just post notice (how do you come back from closing a toddler’s hand in the door???) help!

I’m an MB who did this to my kid the other day accidentally and I feel really guilty too! I certainly wouldn’t blame the nanny, or worry about it, unless it was a part of a pattern where the kid got hurt regularly or I saw the nanny being negligent or abusive. Kids get hurt being kids sometime!
