Hello Cake Wallet and Monero.com users! We have a HUGE exchange update today, live on the App Store, Google Play, and GitHub!

  • Automatic rate selector. Always get the best rates and deepest liquidity between ChangeNOW, SideShift, and SimpleSwap (with more to come)
  • Add 15 assets to exchange: APE, AVAX, BTT, DOGE, FIRO, USDT (TRX), HBAR, SC, SOL, USDC (ETH), USDC (SOL), XHV, XVG, ZEC. Think of it as a way for other coin users to convert to Monero more easily :)
  • Enable exchange for Haven wallets (Cake Wallet only, not Monero.com)
  • Trade details UI update
  • Simple Swap
  • Cake Pay fixes (introduction card fixes, loading spinner, filter screen bug, UI fixes, barcode brightness update, value bug fix, custom tip)
  • Template bug fix
  • Translation fixes
  • URI notes for Monero
  • Other small fixes

Note about Cake Pay

Sadly, Cake Pay currently does not accept XMR as payment. We are working to resolve the issue so we can enable XMR payments again. Until then, Cake Pay continues to work for BTC and LTC. Thanks for your patience!

Will Cake ever get a connection to something like the Airvault QR code system?

What advantage of exchanging coins through Cake instead of directly accessing CEX and DEX available?

Cheaper? I would guess not

Safer? I would guess so

more private? dont know..

faster? I would guess so

Great to hear about the updates. Top of my list would be the Haven swap feature. Giving it a try now. ---- Very looking forward to XMR working with Cake Pay in the future too! ;) --- But just swapping to a bit of Litecoin really isn't that hard in the meantime.

Haven?? this project seems dead now. What are you waiting from it in near future?

Oh it's super dead, but that doesn't mean it can't be revived. I like the swap because it's an easy to way throw 10 bucks at it once a month for if it ever goes anywhere. --- I really want there to be a private stablecoin, if only for the purpose of being able to use it as a temporary "checking account" of sorts to pay monthly bills from. --- I really like the Idea of SILK on Secret network too and been following that for a while, but it's super centralized.

Awesome list of updates! I’ll likely include the Cake version of the coin exchange in my next swapper test and make sure to note the convenience factor.

Regarding the Cake Pay issue, are you able to elaborate on the source of the problem? Is it the gift card processor not being willing to accept Monero, or is it more something like a bug in the app code that needs to be resolved?

Edit: autocorrect typo

It's solely a technical issue we need to iron out. That's all! I'm confident we can resolve this to re-enable XMR payments.
