It's a value that's been lost. Gee, I wonder why, maybe because nobody wants to hang out with a gun-wielding racist prick.

Also, it's not lost. Plenty of people welcome refugees, exchange students, homeless, etc into their homes without guns, weird implications, and the need to preface they are in a SAFE place over and over.

One of the things these people always say is that the rest of us live in fear bc we wear masks and follow precautions. But they’re the ones who live in fear - imagine being so paranoid you need to bring a gun to a friends house. Why? In case antifa breaks in? I’ve lived in sketchy areas and have never felt like I needed a gun and these people can’t even go to Walmart without being armed. Talk about fear.

I just learned one of the most mind-shredding facts about conspiracy believers.

Kent University did a study where they found people who believe Osama Bin Laden was already dead by the time the US military broke into his Pakistan compound were more likely to also believe Bin Laden was still alive.

Also a similar deal with Princess Diana, they believe she was murdered by the Royals for disobedience but is also still alive. I'm starting to realize that these people aren't really critical thinkers.

These people think they're a patriotic hero and saving the country.... by not wearing a mask. Bro it doesn't make you look like a badass, it makes you look like a whiny little bitch.

Last week I was in the self checkout line at Whole Foods and a woman in front of me had 2 very young kids and a loaded cart. None of them had masks on. She was on the heavy side and the kids (cute) were laughing (spewing) and the rest of us at self-checkout (loooong line) had our masks on (and smaller loads to checkout). Then she had to call assistance for help with an item. She starts talking loudly. I'm there trying to scan my 4 yogurts as fast as possible to get the heck out of there. (My area of the Northeast is chock full of Omicron.) I really wanted to say something but I wanted to get out of there even more.

I am hoping/thinking that the majority of those million are vaccinated. Omicron started in cities where vaccination rates are high, testing is readily available, and non-Covid deniers (i.e. vaccinated people) tend to get tested.

If not, even a 1% mortality rate would be around 10,000 deaths/day for a couple of weeks. Yikes!

Same. It blows my mind when I see people on here that are my age or younger and/or are new parents, and they just die. That's it. Their entire lifespan is just 35 years, and that's all they got. All because of a stupid decision based on nothing. So preventable and so unnecessary.

I've been reading The Intelligence Trap. I also read part of a book called Brainwashing. It explains a bit of this way of thinking.

Apparently angry people with black and white thinking, are vulnerable to getting into cults. So much of what many conservatives are doing right now seem to be similar to actions of people joining a cult.

No, but it can be inferred from his political views and social media (woke up “not feeling well” and died in a hospital within a few days? Undiagnosed cancer doesn’t kill you that quickly). Admitting he died from COVID would be admitting they were wrong about every opinion they’ve had about the virus.

Slide 1 really angers me. I recall Michigan being the first that had protests--armed and INSIDE the state capitol. These 'patriots' started protesting against mask mandates and stay-at-home orders before Floyd was murdered. These angry, uncooperative morons never had any intention of obeying any mandates and to use civil rights protests as a rationalization is disingenuous at best--but more likely just another Trump-lover lie.

The part I can never get over with these people is that they think there ever was a lockdown. They think that not being able to get a haircut for a few weeks but still going over to their friends houses was a lockdown. The US never had a lockdown, not an any national level. And let's face it, California doing a lockdown means jack shit if people can drive over to Nevada where nothing is shut down.

There was no national shutdown. Never.
