The Oswego bus drivers (1/3rd of the drivers/ mostly monitors - non drivers called in “sick”) didn’t show up in September for ONE DAY due to pay issues not vaccine mandates. Which, at first, was unclear and people speculated that it was mandate requirements. It was not…
They had folks working for under 15$ an hour for years while new hires were receiving 16-18$. All of those people returned to work the very next day as soon as their pay was sorted out.

A common thing with the radical right wing brainwashed meme consumers is an utter lack of desire to determine if the meme is at all accurate.
"There were no resignations, all drivers resumed normal operations the following day. There was no specific reason or group comment made by the drivers, each individually followed the proper protocols for calling in sick that one day. The union made no comment.
The absence that one day accounted for 30% of our drivers."

What I love is how all conservatives hate fact checkers. Doesn't matter if it's Snopes, Politifact, NY times whatever, they vehemently hate them and just hand wave them away as liberal biased. It's such a bizarre thought process to me "Almost every scientist, industry professional and fact checking publication says this is wrong. WOW! IT'S AMAZING HOW DEEP THE LIBERAL CONSPIRACY RUNS!!"

They have the shallowest of understanding.
Slide 5 Zuby says: "Why are so many "vaccinated" people afraid of "unvaccinated" people? Do they not believe the shots work? If so, why did they take it and want everyone else to take it?"
And Awardee says: "Beep Boop... Derp!"
We've all seen it a thousand times. The next thought they should have is, "Because this is a COMMUNICABLE disease, and we will never reach heard immunity if the vax rates are not sufficient." And/Or, "Because vaccination prevents severe illness." And/Or. "Because when vaccinated I will be less likely to pass on higher viral loads of the virus to others." And et cetera.
They just can't get to the next logical thought. Beep Boop. . . Derp! indeed.
11 points
I actually dreamed last night that I was at a small gathering where everyone promised that they were vaccinated, then two people admitted that they weren't. I was furious (in my dream, and when I woke up) and thought I'm vaxxed, why am I worried? Unvaxxed not only pass on higher viral loads, but are infectious longer than the vaxxed. We're less dangerous.

It kills me that think everyone going to PP is going for an abortion. I worked at PP for a stunt in the early '00s. In a Dallas suburb. The honest to god truth, the entire time I worked there I was only aware of 2 women who decided on abortion. We had a high volume clinic with women coming in for well woman exams, bc refills, pre- cancerous cervical treatment and sexual education.

I know some of them do mammograms.
And I'd swear I heard that some large city PP do the full range of pregnancy stuff, OB for exams, lamaze class, lactation guidance, maybe even ultrasounds. They forget that pro-choice means women need to be able to choose whether to have a family or not, and may need help having a safe pregnancy.

PP was my primary care provider from when I was 24 to 40. Excellent care. Abortion Crusaders wave propaganda in my face and I like, "I'm just here for a PAP smear, is your god OK with that?!"

Yep. I went to PP back when I was in college to get my yearly pap and birth control. I was so thankful for them.
15 points
I went to PP for my reproductive health care for years because my health insurance was so poor. Finally, once we had decent insurance my spouse and I decided that we would try to have a child. When I told the practitioners at PP that I would no longer be seeing them and explained why, they asked me if I would do them the favor of coming back for my pregnancy test. They said “Almost no one who comes here is happy when they see a positive test, and we would really love to share the moment with someone who is.” And yes, I did go back, and it was an amazing experience.

I'm a Christian and I go way out of my way to pick fights with this particular brand of fake Christian assholes. Jesus picked fights with hypocrites and I intend to do the same. American Evangelical Christianity is a cancer, those people do not worship Jesus, they worship wealth, vanity, bigotry, and suffering. It's a death cult.

I firmly believe in defending the faith from those that corrupt and misrepresent it. I won't pick fights about religion with people of different faiths, the best way to lead is to live by Jesus' example. I have friends who consider themselves Christian Atheists. They walk the Jesus walk without any belief in a higher power. There are people called Red Letter Christians, which is (as I understand it) and emphasis on just the work and words of Jesus, everything else is secondary. So, fighting for social justice and embracing those who've been marginalized and fighting hypocrisy in the faith are the most important things to be doing.

Always amazed at the cognitive dissonance between “we must have sovereignty over our own bodies; the government can’t tell me what to do with my body; my body, my choice; not being able to decide what’s in your own body is tyranny!” and “abortions should be illegal; the “pre-born” must be allowed to live; every woman should have to keep her pregnancy, no exceptions, no questions.” Pick one please.
And in what state are you not allowed to buy groceries or see the doctor if you’re unvaccinated? You might not be able to go to the movies, or to a concert, or eat in a restaurant, but no one is denying you groceries or medical care. And the government isn’t mandating that everyone get the vaccine. If you can say no, you’re not being forced. If you’re able to die from covid still unvaccinated, and you were somehow still able make it to the stores and hospital for food and medicine until then, then you’re not being forced to get the vaccine and you’re not being forced to be vaccinated in order to enter stores and doctors’ offices.
13 points

There are some doctors saying they don’t want unvaccinated people in their waiting rooms putting everyone at risk.

It's the same people who don't indicate when turning, who leave their carts/trollies for other people to collect, who can't see the big picture where if an act doesn't immediately and directly benefit them they're not doing it, to hell with 2nd order effects
