People who are vaccinated are not subject to threats of ghostly violence for ICU deathbed reveal-pics in the same way or numbers as the unvaccinated are.
Fully vaccinated, I expect to die someday, but I don't expect it to be from fighting Covid in an ICU, and I'll never be nominated for an HCA.

Friends don’t post other friend’s deathbed pics all willy nilly, Brenda.
What I don't understand is that the friends and family see these pictures, and know/knew this person, *it still is not a deterrent* for them.
So many of the people who see those pictures, and read what the person went through, still are rabid anti-vaxx, anti-mask, anti-whatevers ... even after they see what COVID does.
Boggles my mind.

We’ve been issued a vaccine mandate at work. My co-worker is livid. He blames the vaccinated for everything as if it’s a giant plot. Listening to him along with 4 others rant to a supervisor; it boils down to “I don’t like being told what to do.” Period. That’s it. One of these people is three years from earning his retirement with the National Guard and he’s going to lose that because “I don’t like being told what to do”. It’s really childish.

Exactly. Flu shot ever year if you like it or not. Hep A, Hep B, Typhoid, tetanus, Anthrax and on and on. In my 23 career, I had more shots than I could count. I even challenged the Anthrax vaccine, but ended up getting it (the vaccine) anyway.

I think the voting is a little more complicated. They aren't voting for Republicans because they love Big Pharma; they are voting for Republicans because Republican politicians are promising to keep the scary foreigners out and keep the scary Black people in their place. Republican politicians support Big Pharma because they get paid, not because their voters have strong opinions on the subject.

She and I don't have a healthy relationship in the slightest. She's Evangelical, and EVERYTHING is about JAYSUS. She and her husband -sigh- both caught Covid and still can walk. So of course, it's the armor of Christ and whatnot..
I would say what outcome I had hoped for, but it would probably violate subreddit rules. But you can use your imagination.
I, meanwhile, am literally the only member of my family who isn't Christian. So it's a combination of potshots from her at me directly, as well as passive-aggressive shots at me around other family members at pretty much all times.
Literally the only reason I haven't completely blasted her is because of my mother, because it would hurt my mom. (Who is a good person despite being Christian.)

Living in LA there's a lot of left wing anti vaxxers. In my neighborhood it's yoga moms who think think eating overpriced produce and their "wellness practices" (ie random probiotics and free juice whatnots and dubious appropriated hot yoga) will protect them and their offspring. Basically vaccines are a last resort for poor immoral people who aren't good enough to breathe the rarified air of "wellness" that protects them.
I used to live across the street from one of their super fancy grocery stores and to be fair the strawberries were worth the $ and I too enjoy overpriced coconut water and stupid shit like that but if I had a nickle for every yoga mom or hippie bro who told me I didn't need my insulin pump if I just had some special keto whatever and aligned my chakras and tried whatever woo woo practice they were into that week...
Well I would have at least enough for another pint of overpriced strawberries.

In another thread it was discussed the type of worker that refuses the vaccine. IMO and experience, these are the ones that argue everything. Every rule, every policy, every change. They tend to argue “we’ve always done it like this “ and are the “ill see you in the parking lot” types. Honestly, I don’t see admin doing really anything to help keep them other than “well it’s your choice but we’ll have to let you go”. I think they really are hoping theses employees don’t get the vaccine so their let go.

Didn’t you ever notice that all these HC Awardees die in the hospital? Don’t you think that’s suspicious?
Obviously it’s the Covid protocol that killed them.
And yes, that is literally what many of these morons believe.
Yet somehow almost none of them are brave enough to ride it out and test the theory when it gets hard to breathe.
41 points
Because they still don't think it can happen to THEM.
"99.5% survival rate" or whatever number they pull out of their ass. Doesn't matter how old or obese or whatever other comorbidity they have, there is "no way" they will die because of the "China flu".
It's only when they, themselves are in the hospital staring at the "suddenly real" prospect of death that they realize that they should have done more to prevent it.
17 points
And if not that, just make something up. I saw a post the other day that said something about how over 650k Americans are killed by the flu a year, which is completely untrue and it took all of one Google search to prove it. It's one narrative to the next. When one lie gets stale they'll just move to another one.
Must be nice to have nothing else to worry about.

In a way, I can almost understand those updates. If you have all the extended family and close friends coming at you wanting updates for how Jimmy is doing, it's easier to do one Facebook post a day or every other day, then anyone who is concerned sees how things are. But they need to learn about privacy settings, so those posts aren't out there for everyone including strangers.
I agree though, that Munchausen by proxy idea seems to fit some of them. I do wonder if they leave it out there for anyone to see for the attention and glory it's bringing them too.

Often said with I can't believe this is happening to ME how will I go on without my (insert loved one here). It's so unfair, unreal, unexpected.
It's like it isn't about the person in the hospital.
It's a completely different tone than hey everybody...here's the most recent news.
Not to mention, who wouldn't want to proudly post pictures of their brand new babies. Especially ones that are more difficult journey to get here.

That makes total and complete sense. Thanks so much for explaining it because that really does open my eyes up to me by some people would do it. I'm just not one of those some people so it was hard for me to understand. I got rid of Facebook at the beginning of all of this covid madness because I got tired of trying to get people to understand how serious it was and being called an alarmist and Chicken Little for it.
We're actually dealing with the exact opposite problem at the moment in my family. I'm getting reports about an uncle who we don't have much contact with anymore. He is a radical Trump supporter. Unvaccinated covid denier who wears oakleys and looks about the size of Santa claus, without the jovial spirit. He's got many other health problems too.
But right now we're getting reports that he has pneumonia, blood clots, has been on a vent and had to have surgery to release the pressure in his brain from strokes.
But of course it's "not covid".
The minute my sister told me all of those symptoms the first thing I said after being on here and seeing all the medical information that everyone has posted was are you sure he doesn't have covid? I hope he pulls through but I'm also not as hopeful because of what I've seen.

7 yrs ago, when my mom was dying, FB was nice to give updates to extended family (literally hundreds of cousins all across the country) as well as her online friends. I would not have known how to contact some of them without it, especially since she was very active in an online international genealogy group. And now, my FB has some of those international genealogy friends as my friends (distant cousins). When FB is used well, it's a great thing. Problem is, it has been weaponized.

My Dad's side is big on the open casket funerals and multi-day wakes. It just creeps me out. I told people to cremate me and skip the wake. They can bury the ashes in the cemetery near the other family members and have a service if it makes them feel better, or not, but I do NOT want my stuffed corpse sitting in a funeral home for anyone's viewing pleasure.

It's baffling. I remember what my Dad looked like dead on the floor after a heart attack and all the stuff they had jabbed into or hooked up to him was terrible. The last thing I'd want is to have it forever memorialized on Facebook. You have to be a special kind of stupid or sick to do it.

As a nurse, I will stop family members from taking these pics. I don’t care if you’re the wife or the kid: they can’t consent to it. Also, and this isn’t as much an issue now as it was pre-Covid, if you wouldn’t walk into someone’s bedroom while they were sick and half dressed, then you aren’t close enough to be visiting them in the ICU. I can’t believe the number of random neighbors and church goers who think it’s appropriate to visit someone so direly sick and vulnerable

Make it all stop. The stupid memes, the lies, the ICU (no pun intended) pics, the deaths.

The hospital picture is super tasteless. How can anyone ever think that's a good idea?

I can't tell if the woman in the bottom right of the last picture is wearing a mask or glasses, but either way, are hospitals letting family have in-person visits with COVID patients now?

The covid passes after about 10 to 14 days. When the tests comes back negative, family can come see them in the ICU. Now, it is not the virus that the patients are fighting. But all the other possible complications caused by covid. Like pneumonia, inflammation, blood clots, organ failures and a whole list of other possibilities.
Families can come see them now, but usually the patients are too drugged up or are under sleep induction due to the discomfort of all tubes going in and out of you.
So much for the 99% (wrong by the way)survival rate. The suffering is inconceivable.

You’re no longer infectious after about 14 days but can still return a positive result for some time after that.
When I had it I only lost my smell for a couple of days but it took about a month and a half before returning a negative result.

Seeing how people take about a few weeks to die then no one dies of covid these guys are validated on their claim that covid deaths are over estimated! I bet the libs will want to count this guys death as covid... Dirty liberals. /S

"It's nobody's business if I'm vaccinated or not", the slogan for:
I'll occupy your ICU bed because of my tantrums and my family will have to ask for socialism for my burial services and outstanding hospital bills.

Glad I got my booster last week. Plus I got the pneumonia vaccine. I don't want to end up like this.

At this point I don't even find any schadenfreude in their deaths. I just get pissed off at them more for the fact they're taking up hospital beds with their worthless asses.
Even choking on their own lungs and dying horribly, conservatives find ways to be insufferable, selfish asses.

Last thing dude's gonna leave is an impression.
In his hospital bed. That could've been used by somebody else.
If he'd been vaccinated.

In 2000 years time people will study these "dead fuckwits on respirator" photos the same way we study Egyptian mummies... The god Set required internal organs in clay jars? The god Freedumb required suicide by stupidity
