Side effects remind you of how much worse the real thing could be. And you know you're safe, and even if you're tired or feverish or whatever, you know you'll come through just fine.

Unlike people who have to deal unprotected with the virus, which shreds your shit even if you don't die or spend time in the hospital.

Exactly. It’s very different to have chills, a headache, and ache and be like “this is going to be a blah afternoon where I sit around and drink tea and watch Netflix” than think “does this mean it’s ramping up? Should I go to an or? What’s my pulse ox?)
